Do people REALLY think I have control over when this baby is born???? (Long vent)

I saw my MIL about 1 1/2 weeks ago (I dont see her too often) and she says "So, what does the Dr say? Did he give you a date?" I said May 8 (which has been my due date for the past 9 months). She said "oh"

A few days ago, same question--same answer.

I saw FIL couple days ago (FIL & MIL are divorced)says to me "Come on Jill, let's go to the hospital and have this baby" I say "I'd love to, but he's (baby) not ready yet"

Icing on the cake---my dad calls today (who lives in S. Carolina), first my cell (which had shut itself off and I was not aware of), then my house phone, which I answer and he said "Oh, I tried your cell first, but when you didn't answer I thought I'd try the house, maybe you went into labor" I look at my cell, and explain it's been acting up. Fine. He proceeds to say "So, whats going on, when's the baby coming? Susan (my step mother) is getting anxious, she wants you to have the baby already." I explain, I have no control over it to which he says "Aw come on, just push him out" I do my best to laugh it off (fake of course) and just say "well, he'll be here soon" That was the entire conversation. PS-I had called him yesterday to update that we have scheduled a c-section for Tue May 8 (you'd think it was months away!)

Not for nothing, my dad has been thru childbirth 2 times (me and my bro). I understand my step-mom has not birthed childern herself (she has a son she asopted), but others in her family/friends have. Do they REALLY think I have control over this??? Do they REALLYthink I'm enjoying this??? UGH!!!



I shouldn't be surprised, my dad was originally saying they were going to drive up in early June, stay with us for a day or two, then drive up to Niagra Falls, b/c my step-moms never been there. Hello?!?! That's changed since, but still!!!

I think you are officially at the point in your pregnancy where you don't have to answer your phone!!

And next time someone asks when are you going to have the baby "already" - ask them what helpful tricks were given to when PITA relatives asked them these questions!

People can be frustrating!

My parents are going on a cruise that gets back a week before my due date...they booked it before we knew we were pregnant. But they keep saying that the baby CAN'T arrive before they get back...

Ummm, I don't have the slightest bit of control over that one!

Oddly, I act like I DO have control over when this baby will arrive!

But it is annoying to hear people tell you when it's ok to give birth.

My ILs are out of town this week, my MIL "begged" me to hold off until she gets back. Really? OK...let's not forget I'm only 35 weeks on Friday.... Oh and like you said, the due date hasn't changed in nearly 9 months...long before she planned her vacation. She should've planned it earlier if she was so worried.
