Do the straps of DC's convertible carseat cut into their neck? Updated with another Q at bottom...
We just installed Thomas' Britax Roundabout and although I love it and he seems to as well, the straps cut into his little neck and leave mark. I'm surprised that the seat didn't come with those padded protector things. I took them off his infant seat and put on the Roundabout and they do the trick, but I was wondering if anyone else had this problem and if their carseat came with those padded things.
Thanks!

no pads on the lap belt part but DH just loosened them up a bit more yesterday for DS because they were tight and he was flipping out. But now that they are adjusted they are fine....they sit flat across his legs.

I mean the shoulder straps, the part that goes over his shoulders comes so close to his neck that it actually touches it and cuts in leaving a red mark! He doesn't seem to mind or complain, but it's clearly irritating his skin.

We have the same issue. He's been in it for about 5 months now and we have never put the cushy things on the straps. Maybe we will someday.

Sorry the lap pads are clearly on my mind...and I totally misread. We have a separate piece that goes around his neck to prevent him from falling alseep in his lap so we just moved that from the infant carrier to the convertible.

Is it possible that the straps are in the slots that are too high? Maybe lower them to ease the discomfort?

DD's neck was being cut too. I put the cushiony pads over them to protect her neck
something like these:

Yes we have the same problem. I went to BRU and bought thin little pads. The cute ones were too bulky. Made 100% difference!

Re: Do the straps of DC's convertible carseat cut into their neck? Updated with another Q...
Thanks everyone!
The slots for the strap are slightly higher than his shoulders, but the instructions say to use the slot at or above the baby's shoulders, so we couldn't use the lower one - it would be below his shoulders.
I found these two protectors... Which do you think would be more practicle? I worried the first one which reverses to shearling will be too hot in the summer, but they do look SO soft. DS is a sweaty little guy!

Do you have a pic of the ones you got? I'm looking on BRU website but haven't gotten to the store yet.

We have the same issue, if DD is wearing something that doesn't sit between her and the strap then I put on the strap covers I got at BRU. They are covered in terry cloth and not very bulky at all. I got them in the store and don't see them online.

Is he rear facing?
My Britax came with those, and I love that they are small ones. Most of the ones I've seen at the store are too long, which makes the chest clip at their stomach, which isn't safe.

We just turned him to be forward facing. I called Britax and they said the Roundabout doesn't come with the protectors although the larger seats do, but she couldn't give me a reason why.
