Do you always give DC cereal with fruit/veggie?
My ped. said we don't have to give it to him with each fruit/veggie. I'm wondering if others just give their child ther fruit/veggie and no cereal.

yes, i give cereal in am, and sometimes during lunch but not always, for dinner ds her pureed chicken with sweet potatoes, veggies or sometimes white potatoes, and i find that after that he does not want cereal.

When I first started him on cereal, he got it plain but once he started fruit and veggies this is what we did:
breakfast: 4tbsp cereal w/a jar of stage 1 fruit
lunch: a jar if stage 1 fruit & a jar if stage 1 green veggie by themselves
dinner: 4tbsp cereal w/a jar of stage 1 yellow veggie

I still mix in oatmeal at least once a day so DD gets the added iron - her hemoglobin test at 9 months showed low iron. The other time she eats solids, I mix in yobaby yogurt.

DS only eats the cereal in the morning with the fruit. I tried in the afternoon but he gags and refuses ~ when he refuses then he does not eat his vegy
