Do you buy formula before baby?
I really would like to try and use a gereic brand if possible. I know they will give me either similac or enfamil at the hospital. Do you just switch when you get home?

Yep.
Did you register with all of teh websites? They will send you samples before your due date and I just had those.
I am glad I didn't buy a lot b/c my DS ended up needed Gentlease.
ETA: The "yep" was to just switching when the baby comes home

I would wait until the baby is born. They will give you plenty of samples at the hospital to get you through the first few days. Plus, you never really know what formula your baby will respond through. My DD went through 4-5 different formulas before we found one that worked.

I've gotten some samples in the mail already but I am not buying anything until we meet with the pediatrician and know what will agree with him. My DH had projectile vomiting and needed to go on a soy formula so I am already concerned that's going to be "genetic".
