Do you buy in bulk?
Or am I the only one who does this?
Milk - I buy about 5 cartons at a time. They have such a long expiration date that we never even come close to it.
Diapers - I haven't had to buy a box of diapers since July. I still have about three more before I run out. I buy in the next size also in case he moves up.
Overnight Diapers - I bought 6 packs when I found them at Walmat.
Wipes - I buy enough to last me about 4 months.
Cereal Bars, Puffs, Oatmeal - never ending stock.
Is anyone else like this - or am I just a nutcase? I could never imagine running out of diapers or milk. I was at someones house last week and she only had enough formula for one more bottle - and had to run out to get more -- that would make me pass out!

I never get to the point were I will have to run out or we "run out" of something. I always have a back up but not quite your stash.

We do for things that won't go bad. Toilet Paper, Paper Towels, laundry supplies, wipes, etc. Some food items as well that will last.

Re: Do you buy in bulk?
I like to stockpile too. Right now there are 5 cartons of C's milk in my fridge too. Diapers I always have lots extra b/c I buy them on sale, I was the same with formula...also with wipes and the other essentials.
I grew up in the middle of nowhere, so you couldn't ever just run out when you needed something-- you went to the grocery store once a week, etc. So I think my planning comes from that. I also never have less than 1/4 tank gas for the same reason

See now, gas - I'm always running on fumes. I usually end up calling someone just in case the car ends up dying on me. I'm the worst!

Re: Do you buy in bulk?
I am a bulk shopper with diapers and wipes. DD is on soymilk now, but her ped wants her to try whole milk soon, otherwise I would buy that in bulk too. I always have plenty for her snack and food wise also. It makes me feel better to know she is always provided for.

Re: Do you buy in bulk?
Wipes yes because they won't change. Right now, we are getting close to the next size of diapers so I dont want to by too much of the wrong size.

Are you my long lost twin???
I'm a total neruotic with stocking up on "supplies". Even before we had DS, I was a horder.
But I'll ALWAYS let the car go to E!!

Re: Do you buy in bulk?
Unless it's something that is on sale for an unheard of price, I don't really buy in bulk anymore. If I can go and get it at the same price, or if it will be on sale again soon (like most supermarkets do), I find that it is a waste of space and sometimes money - food things that don't last or get forgotten in the back of the cabinet.

Re: Do you buy in bulk?
I bought those Eckerd diapers over a year ago and I'm still using them!! I probably have another six months worth. I don't like them though so I use them when I run out of Luvs. Other than that, I have nothing stockpiled. Surprising huh! I'm slacking lately and also waiting on a good sale Milk I buy 2 gallons at a time because there just never seems to be room for more in the fridge.

We buy "enough" to last a while, but not as long as you describe
Frankly, I dont have the room to store it all

Re: Do you buy in bulk?
Diapers and wipes we stock up on but the rest we only get what we need on a weekly basis. We only go through a gallon of milk a week so every Sat/Sun we pick one up with the food shopping. Same with food but if there is a sale on the non-refrigerated/freezer items I will stock up...but not too often.

Re: Do you buy in bulk?
At BJs, we buy stuff like paper towel, toliet paper, cleaning supplies, diapers, and wipes in bulk (along with non-essential items like candy, ice tea mix, mozzarella sticks, etc.).
I just run out of room to put all this stuff! Thank goodness for garages!

Re: Do you buy in bulk?
I usually have enough extra diapers and wipes to never run out, but that's about it.
As far as gas goes... Saturday, I called by husband in a panic because I was driving home from the Source Mall and I was on E and I decided to press the "Distance to Empty" button and it said 1 mile!!!! He was able to tell me where nearest gas station was to where I was at that moment. I had to love him for saving me!!

Re: Do you buy in bulk?
I have months and months worth of diapers (regular & overnight), diaper doublers and wipes. I also buy 5-6 milks at a time. I can't be bothered worrying about if we are almost out of something weekly.

Re: Do you buy in bulk?
We do for certain things (diapers, wipes, paper goods, cleaning products, cereal bars, fruit snacks, etc..) but I actually want to get an extra freezer in the garage so I can do it with food too.
