Do you consider your job stressful?
Do you feeled stressed out with your work? I'm feeling very overwhelmed lately and have no idea how to express this to my boss. I'm so scared they'll think that I'm just slacking. They fired someone and gave me her work without so much as a thank you let alone a raise!

Sometimes. I process refunds and I get a lot of "well you were quick to take my money but not quick to refund it" and when I try to explain to them that it can take up to 10 business days for a refund to be processed and then once processed it takes 3 days to post (depending on the bank) the person starts screaming at me like it's my fault the process is so long. Thats when it gets stressful.

I have a stressful job, but I thrive under pressure, I always have. I need to have a lot of work/high stakes things or else I get bored and dont want to work.

I feel the same way. There used to be 4 people in my department, now it's just me with no relief.
I am hesitant to complain because I don't want to show up on their "radar" if you know what I mean.

Same here.
When I read the title of this thread, my first reaction was "Immensely."
This is why I don't plan to do this forever... The stress is borderline unbearable at times.

Yes, but I think most of it is self-imposed.
I personally would never complain to my boss about stress, esp. in this economy.

It can be...I'm in HR and I have a lot of employee relations issues that come up...plus I recruit and that can be stressful when I'm trying to fill a position, it's hard to please the managers sometimes....
With your boss, I think it's better to be up front and explain that you are more than willing to take on the work however there needs to be a balance - its better to have the talk then get overwhelmed and make mistakes.
