Do you get paid if you work past your shift?
So if you are scheduled to work from 9-5pm but you stay until 6pm do you get paid for that extra hour? I ask because I think Im getting screwed. I noticed my last pay check that if I worked past my scheduled time she didnt pay me. For instance, last monday I worked 8:15AM-3:20pm but she only paid me as if I worked unil 3pm. Then Wed. I worked 8:30-4:52pm and she only paid me until 4pm. Is this legal?

Nope, I am a salaried employee so I get the same pay if I work 40 or 90 hours a week.

If you work hourly, then you should get paid.

I would definitely ask your boss...You should be getting paid for that extra time if you're paid hourly.

If you work hourly, then you should get paid.

I know some hourly folks need to clear the extra time beforehand or it is considered unpaid.

Just to be clear - whether you are salaried or not, you still can be entitled to overtime.
As a manager, I am exempt for overtime.

Were you asked to stay later?
If you were asked by your supervisor to stay later then you should be paid.
At my old company if an employee took it upon themselves to come early or milk their end time, we wouldn't pay them for it.

I always love those lists. Any professional is exempt. Isn't everyone a professional? If they aren't then they wouldn't have the job?

No, but we get flex time. So if I work an extra hour one day, I can come in an hour late or leave an hour early another day.

I get paid for every minute I work now that I am part time. I hand in my hours every month and get paid once a month based on the hours that I give in.
When I was f/t I was salaried so no extra money.

Yes!
I do payroll...If I were you I would just stay those extra few minutes so you get paid the full 1/2hr of Hour...
I would def. speak to your boss about it.
Also did you take a break? If not he/she probably took that hour away because you didn't take a break.

Then yea I think you got screwed...it could of been a mistake but definitely talk to your boss about it. Hope everything works out!
