Re: Do you go out and leave the appliances running at home?
DON"T LEAVE ANYTHING ON AND GO OUT PLEASE!!!!!!!
We had a fire in our basement this year. I turned the dishwasher on which turned on the hot water heater. We had stuff around our boiler/hot water heater and it was ignited by the hot water heater.
If I wasn't home we would have lost the house and our dog

Re: Do you go out and leave the appliances running at home?
I would go out with anything running-- except the oven.
Only thin with the washer and dryer is that a- your clothes will sit there wet for a while or b- the dry clothes will wrinkle, but you can just run it when you get home for a few mins and get all the wrinkles out.

Re: Do you go out and leave the appliances running at home?
Never. Not even my dishwasher or washing machine. My mom was home alone and put the dishwasher on and went up to take a shower. In the middle of her shower, she hears the smoke detector go off, she gets out, puts a towel on, goes to the kitchen to find flames shooting out of the dishwasher! And fast approaching the cabinets above. She put the fire out with a fire extinguisher and just had damage to the DW and the countertop. Thankfully she was home or else it could have been bad. The timing mechanism shorted out and caused the fire.
And a dryer is the most dangerous appliance to leave on while out. Too much danger of a fire, I've seen it happen before.
Be safe veryone!

Yes to dishwasher, washer or dryer. I never would run out with the stove on, even for a couple of minutes. I never think twice about leaving with those things on.

Re: Do you go out and leave the appliances running at home?
Never! It is very dangerous. We had our washing machine go on fire while we were home. Thank God we were because our basement was in flames and we were able to avoid it turning into a major catastrophe. My pets were here and it was a nightmare. I always check and double check EVERYTHING is off, except A/C which we leave on because I have pets.

Re: Do you go out and leave the appliances running at home?
I always left the dryer running, but recently a close friends house burned down from a fire that originated in the dryer - I don't do it anymore. sometimes I leave the dishwasher going.

Nope, daughter of a fireman who was told repeatedly about electrial fires and how washing machine hoses burst and flooded the house.
We don't leave anything on.

I would go out with the dishwasher or the washing machine running...but not the dryer.
That's me - the dryer is the thing that scares me.

I don't leave ANYTHING running...I have done this a few times and was paranoid the whole time...just kept thinking of my cat and if the house was in flames..
