My DH works for the fire department and doesn't have an issue with it, so I never brought up putting on in his room

really? we keep her door closed when she is in her room...the thought of how much smoke it would take to fill her room and then make the detector in the hallway go off worries me....

We also keep the doors closed so that was my thought as well.

We also keep the doors closed so that was my thought as well.
Oohhh, we don't shut his door all the way, so maybe that is it. I am clueless tho.

Yes, we put smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in every bedroom before we had kids.
Last year we had the windows replaced in the bedrooms and the contractor told me it was good we had them in there, it's now Nassau Cty code that you have to have them in bedrooms.

Nope. It's outside in the hallway. None of the bedrooms have alarms in them. Both the fire alarm and carbon monoxide detector are in the hallway.

Yes...
When we dormered, we put smoke alarms in all the bedrooms and and a carbon monoxide detector in the hallway...they are electrically wired throughout the house (with battery backups)...

Yes. There's one in DD room, our room and the hallway....they are all about 3 feet from one another (tiny house  )
