do you have a "magic number"?
I know some of us on the D&F boards don't go by the scale (or don't even weigh themselves) and some of us weigh ourselves religiously. I'm a weigher
So those of you that do weigh yourselves- do you have a magic number? A number that you always seem to feel really good at?
I've found that I feel my best at 119. I usually hover between 118-123, but 119 makes me feel the best. When I go above I feel bloated and when I go below I feel too thin.

Re: do you have a "magic number"?
I've been stuck between 132-134 since the wedding. I feel gross. Before the wedding I was 128 and felt pretty good and at my lowest I was 122 which was a bit hard for me to maintain. 125 seems to be my magic number and I'm hoping to get back there soon.

I feel best at 105-110.
But lately I'm always between 118-120. Way too heavy for me!!
Trying to lose 10+ pounds is hard!!

Re: do you have a "magic number"?
I feel best at 120.
I've been stuck at 123, which is not a big difference, but I do feel a little bloated. I've been injured and not exercising though, so that could be part of it as well.
ETA I am 5'5.

Re: do you have a "magic number"?
My magic number falls between 129 and 133; I am 5'7. I have maintained this range for the last 3 years. Right now I am at 129, 130 and I like the way I look. Anything under 129 would be difficult, if not impossible to maintain. I do not think I have been under that number since middle school.

Re: do you have a "magic number"?
IDK what that is just yet.
I thought 128 would be "OK" esp after having kids.
Then it wasnt, seeing how diff my body looks and how its holding weight in diff areas.
So Im heading towards a new "magic" number.

Re: do you have a "magic number"?
I don't know...I've never been at a weight where I felt good. Isn't that sad? The lowest I got in my adult life was 138, but I always hoped to get down to 120. But I have no idea since I've never been that weight, so I don't know how I'll feel.

Re: do you have a "magic number"?
I used to be 116.....that was WAY too thin for me. I think I'm good in the 120 -125 range. I am a long way from that but am def working on it.

Re: do you have a "magic number"?
Colleen, I'm a weigher too!! When I had been diagnosed with diabetes, I went down to 125. I liked fitting into size 8 slacks, but felt I looked too thin, and in answer to that age old saying from people who heard I lost weight, and said, "Oh, I bet you feel much better", I said , "No, I really don't feel better because of losing weight." I still had aches and pains, no magical "I feel great now feeling". So, this time, I don't know if I want to try for 130 or 125. Depends how tired I am of this diet!!!! Mary

Re: do you have a "magic number"?
My magic number if I weigh myself is 5 pounds less than whatever my current weight is.
In February, I got on the scale and saw that I was 113 (after the flu - so devil wear's prada). My old magic number was 115. But when I saw 113, 108 was the new goal - which was blown away a week later because I gained plenty of weight back when I could eat again.
Never ending. It's so dumb for me to think that way.

Re: do you have a "magic number"?
I have no idea anymore... I'm 5'4, and for years, I hovered around 140-145lbs. When we got married, I was down to about 130lbs. My goal was always to get back down to 130lbs and stay there.
I got back down to 130lbs last fall. But then I started running, and now, 6 months later, I'm 125lbs, a lot of which is muscle weight in my legs from running.
I used to think I would be happy at this weight, and though my DH says I'm perfect where I'm at, and shouldn't lose anymore, when I look in the mirror I feel like I could lose another 5-10lbs because, in my eyes, I still look slightly overweight.

Re: do you have a "magic number"?
My magic number is around 98 lbs. I am only 5 ft tall and am very petite so when I head over 100 I feel a bit puffy. I was as low as 94 before our wedding and felt a little too thin at that weight. I am just returning back to around 98 now and am feeling much better!

Re: do you have a "magic number"?
I feel good around 120-124. Anywhere below 120 I feel way too skinny and it doesn't look right.
On a side note I cannot wait to get to this number again! Im in a very "unhappy" range right now!!!! Lol

Re: do you have a "magic number"?
My magic number is 150. At 150, I am a size 2/4 (2 dress, 4 pants).
Any lower than 150 (well, really between 145-150) and I don't feel good. I have low blood pressure, so I pass out even more easily when my weight gets below 150 (i know, weird!).
For me it is more about how healthy I am and muscle takes up less room than fat. It is really tough to stay at this weight and not lose weight, it takes careful planning of my meals and workouts. Finding a balance is a constant search.

I used to think that too! My magic number used to be 180. I was 180 most of my teen years into my early 20s.
So, it's not impossible. And you deserve the time for yourself to stay healthy, so why not? (not that you can't be healthy at 180...as long as you're living healthy if that's your number, own it!)

I was referring to numbers of 120's etc...it would be incredibly unhealthy for me to weigh in that range. I'm 5'11" so that's why I said that, and I am working on being healthy. I'm proud of you ladies that work hard to get to your numbers. You look great!
There is still no way I'm sharing my number though.
