Do you have a Passport CARD? Renewing passport, now have the option
I have to renew my passport and decide if I want to get just the passport book or if I should get the book AND the passport card.
Not sure I really need it or should have it. It's only used for land travel to Canada, the Caribbean and Mexico. But I could use my passport book for that too.
Do you have one? Recommend it? Not recommend it?

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend it unless you are a frequent traveler to Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean and don't want to bring your passport each time.
For me, it makes more sense to just get the passport book and not bother with the card.

If you have a passport, I wouldn't bother paying extra for the passport card, bc your passport already encompasses those countries it is used for.

I already have a passport, so I'd only get it if I lived near the border, so I could keep it in my wallet, to go back & forth easily, without having to remember my passport.
The only other reason I could see to get it is if you don't fly ever and won't need a real passport, it is less expensive to get the card if you are only going to be driving or cruising to Canada.

Unless you plan to drive to mexico or canada a lot I wouldn't bother. I thought about it b.c we are going on a cruise BUT if for example you get to an island on a cruise and you have an emergency then I could be wrong but you can't fly home on it. Honestly I have a passport so why would I want to bother with the card.
