Did anyone get a passport card for your child?
I feel like this may be a good thing to have and carry around as his id. I didn't even know these things existed!

Are passport cards different than an actual passport ? My DC's each have a passport ...

Yup! And he has travelled internationally too! Really easy to get. Just get passport pictures, birth certificate and go to the post office. I believe that they need both parents to sign some paperwork so they can notarize it.

Re: Did anyone get a passport card for your child?
The passport card is only good for land and sea travel within the Western Hemisphere, so its uses are severly limited. It was mainly designed for employees who drive across the borders frequently. It is not necessarily useful for leisure travel, as it does not cover air travel at all.
We did get DD a passport card for our upcoming cruise to Bermuda, but we will have a problem if god forbid we have to fly back.
