Do you keep a nightlight on in your toddler's room?
We have always had all lights off in Kieran's room. He is 21 months. In the past month or two, he has wanted some books in his crib with him when we put him to bed, both at night and for naps. When he's going to sleep at naptime, he likes to look at the books, and he looks at them when he wakes up too. He LOVES to read. At night, I always feel so sad leaving and closing the door knowing it will be too dark for him to read. So we were thinking of putting a nightlight in for him. Just curious if anyone else leaves a small light on.
Edited for typos!

i have one but its not really for him...it doesn't provide light in the area of his crib...it's more to light a path for me to walk in in the middle of the night. but part of putting him to bed is turning on his crib projector and twilight turtle.

He has a nightlight. But bed is bed, no books, toys, or anything else to keep him up. Heck no

My DD is 6 and she still sleeps with a night-light...actually it's a small lamp! It lets off a good amount of light! She can't sleep without it on!
I tell her she is crazy! I need total darkness!

Yes, I use the homedics soundspa rotating picture projector above her crib. I use it so when I check on her I can see

we have always put a night light on in her room. For me it's so I can see but for my dh it's so she wouldn't be scared in the dark, even at 3 months old

We have a small nightlight. The kind that plugs into an outlet.

Small Nightlight. DS has some stuff animals in his crib that and sometimes he likes to bring something like a book or small toy to bed. He plays for a while and then falls asleep. In the morning I usually see him on the monitor playing if he brought something in with him the night before.

Re: Do you keep a nightlight on in your toddler's room?
My 5 year old is afraid of the dark. She sleeps with a lamp on...forget the nightlight. We got the lowest wattage bulb and she has the lamp on the whole night. My 2 year old sleeps with a regular night light.

I like it when she wakes up though and keeps herself occupied for a bit w/her books instead of screaming for me right away

Re: Do you keep a nightlight on in your toddler's room?
I chose other... DS loves to look at books too.
In his room, he's got the star turtle and by request (which is not every night) the white noise machine puts fish on the ceiling. In his crib, he's got the glow seahorse, which is enough for him to see pics in books.
If he asks for a book before I leave the room, I'll put his ceiling fan light on "nightlight". We have a dimmer.
Before I go to bed, I check on him every night and turn off all/any lights or music.

Re: Do you keep a nightlight on in your toddler's room?
We started putting a nightlight in DD#1's room right after she turned 2. She had the stomach virus the night before her 2nd birthday and she had issues sleeping in her room/bed for a little while after that. So we ended up getting a nightlight.
She is now 3yrs9mos and will remind us if we forget to plug it in.
ETA: DD#1 always has a few books in bed. I don't think the nightlight gives off enough light for her to "read" but we could see her in the monitor pretending to read in the dark. It's so cute.
