Do you know anyone who has survived pancreatic cancer?
My aunt was just diagnosed and had her Whipple procedure, which was successful. She will start chemo and radiation possibly later next week. They said she is Stage I-II. I thought this was good. But the stats I'm reading on the internet aren't so great.
I am very close with her and I'm 600 miles away. This is breaking me.

My mom passed away from it. I know it is sad. It is the most lethal cancer, because there is no early detection with this type of Cancer. My best friends mom is a survivor of it.

Re: Do you know anyone who has survived pancreatic cancer?
my mom is in the final stages of it (hospice care) right now... but she was in stage 4 when diagnosed and unoperable. This website has inspirational stories that may be worth reading:pancan.org Let me know if you have any questions. The chemo for pancreatic cancer (gemzar) was a piece of cake for my mom, but radiation was awful.
ETA: she actually has a chance with stage 1-2. most people like my mom don't get diagnosed til 3-4 and then it is too late. i wish the best for your aunt.
