I do know all of them and the only ones I have not met face to face are some of the people from here and a handful from the Dachshund Lovers website. Even the people I have not met face to face are people that I talk with, not just random people. My list is in the 100s but I do delete people from time to time if I realize that there is no reason to keep them on as friends. The reason that my list is so long is simply because I've been involved in a lot of activities over the years and I'm pretty good about keeping in touch. Most of the people on my list fall into one of these groups:
childhood,
summer camp,
college (my dorm group alone has about 70 FB members plus I have friends that I met elsewhere on campus),
law school,
former jobs,
bar association,
summer houses where I had shares,
family,
DH's friends,
my crazy, fun LIW and LIF friends!
It adds up and I love all my FB people!

Yes. Some people I haven't spoken to since freshman year of college- but when it first came out they asked to be my friends, and since I do "know" them I figured, why not. Turns out some of our paths have crossed and it was nice to have already been caught up.
I don't accept friend requests from people I don't know- and I have ignored some friend reqests from people who were not really my friends or who weren't nice to me.

Yes. I know all of them IRL.... or "knew" them, at least. Some HS "friends" I haven't spoken to in 20 years....

I do, but that's only because i've been somewhat selective in who i accept as friends
there are people i accepted in the beginning that i have slowly unfriended because i realize that i don't need or care to know about them, and don't want them knowing anything about me!
Agreed. I just did a nice parade of deletions this weekend.

Have I met them all in person? No. But I know who they are. Anyone I haven't met (and there are only a few, I think...) is an LIF friend

Yes.
I have a few friends that I know through the internet and have not met IRL, but consider friends and know well via chat boards
I have never accepted someone I just don't know.

Yes-I am very selective. But I do have "friends" that I have not spoken to since HS or grammar school. So I "knew" them awhile ago, but do not speak to them regularly.
I've had people request me who never spoke to me in school or just request me b/c we know the same people, but I don't accept them.

well, yes and no, I don't exactly have strangers but I have few LIF girls on my FB , I don't "know" them in person, but we kinda connected on here and became friends on FB. I also have a girl from Australia, she was my pen pal when I was a kid back in Georgia, we recently found each other on FB and now we are friends :) Other than that I know everyone in person.
There was one LIF friend who deleted me though, I think I was too boring for her

No. I have a good amount of people I gathered for Farmville and Mafia Wars, however I do have them grouped and they can only see my profile page and nothing else. All the other people I do know.

Some not in real life like politicians but other people YES. I refuse to just approve anyone. Even people I never spoke to in HS or college who friend request me I igniore

Yes, I know every person that I'm friends with. I don't accept people I don't know.
Just because I know them doesn't mean they have full access to my page. I have some albums of my nieces and nephews and those are blocked from the majority of the people that I am friends with. The reason being is that I'm very protective of them and that you just never know and people are funny. Secondly, I do it out of respect for my sister and sister in law privacy and peace of mind, knowing that the whole world isn't seeing my nieces and nephew on my facebook.

Yes. I don't eer accept friend requests form people I don't really know personally. I have pics of my daughter and family up there and you never know what people do with your pics or the info you post about yourself.

I have about 3 people that were my husband friends through college that I have never met. One always posts nasty obnoxious comments and I am so ****** that DH told me that I should accept him. Now he's like, "yeah he's always been a huge jerk".

I know them or of them but honestly I know the internet friends MUCH better than the family members. I also can say I know the HS friends better too.... sad.
