Yes. 6am lessons at the beach in freezing cold water with the Red Cross every summer when I was little 
As to strokes, I am best at freestylin' it b*tches.

Yup...grew up with a pool plus we live on LONG ISLAND!!! Everywhere you turn, there is water, so you kind of have to know how to swim. Best stroke...breast stroke.

Yup, my Grandparents made me take lessons up in Maine over the summer when I was 6-8 in the freezing cold water at 7am! I would say the breast stroke is my best

This one time.... at camp..... I swam a mile. It was a measured mile for a competition. After I did it once, that was enough for me.... 
I can do pretty much any stroke. Freestyle is my fastest, breast stroke looks nice, side stroke gives a good combination of decent speed with relatively little effort, back stoke is easy, unless there are waves, then you wind up drinking a lot of water. I can do the butterfly, but not for long.

Yes. Learned at 5 years old in the ocean with my dad. I was a water freak.
Best stroke is freestyle/breast stroke.
I am an OK swimmer. I swim very slowly though. I don't like "competition" swimming when I swim. I like to enjoy it.
