Do you let your dog

up on your couch or in your bed? Strange question, I know, just wondering what everyone thinks. We're not going to have her come in the bed, but not sure about letting her on the couch.

our dogs are small, so they pretty much make themselves comfortable in the bed!

Bed, no...especially since being PG. Unfortunately DH let them on the couch early on, so they still jump up on the couch.

Gizzy goes on the couch, but ever since we got the King size bed he can't jump high enough to get on the bed... so no bed anymore.

Re: Do you let your dog

We tried so hard to keep Casey off the couch. It didn't work. So now, if we don't want her on, we just say off the couch and she hops off, but most of the time she hangs out with me Chat Icon She is not allowed on the formal living room couch though, only in the TV room. She doesn't sleep in our bed bc she is not allowed upstairs..that is the cats territory! Chat Icon

Re: Do you let your dog

I have three dogs and none of them are allowed on the couch. In fact, they are not allowed in the living room at all. One sleeps in a recliner in the extra bedroom, one sleeps on the end of my daughter's bed and one sleeps on the cedar chest at the foot of my bed (covered with pillows). They are only allowed on my bed in the morning when I am getting ready. They shed uncontrollably and I try to keep it off my furniture and bed as much as possible. I'm sort of a fanatic about that.

Re: Do you let your dog

Nope - Casey is not allowed on the couch or the bed.

Occasionally if I am sitting on the couch and she gives me the puppy eyes, I will let her put her front paws on the couch and she puts her head in my lap and takes a nap (with her back paws on the floor) Chat Icon

Re: Do you let your dog

He has full run of the house and is allowed on most of the furniture.

We have blankets down on the couches so he doesn't ruin them. We just take them off on the weekends, wash them and put them back on for the week.

Re: Do you let your dog

Hmmm this is kind of one of my pet peeves. I think it is kind of gross to let your dogs sleep in your bed. Could be because my dogs are 85 and 110 pounds respectively but i know they MUST step in urine, dirt whatever else is outside and it is not sanitary IMO. We never let them on the furniture either. they do go in our cars but thats about it.

my mother feels the same way, and DH and i hear it from her all the time... and then DH always responds with his philosophy of "there's a thin layer of sh!t covering just about everything" - which i agree with. plus, the doggies are so snuggly to sleep with Chat Icon Chat Icon
