Do you like your job?
No ulterior motive behind this, just trying to come up with topics to keep activity going on the forums....

Do you like your job?
My job is pretty good, flexible, like my coworkers, and I enjoy my job and what I do! No complaints!!

Re: Do you like your job?
I like the flexibility I have. That's the main thing that I am grateful for and overrides all else. I definitely have it made.
I like the people I work with- I have known them for years.
The work itself, I don't LOVE but it's ok. I'm not miserable every day or anything like that. Some days I really like it, other days I'm like I am done with this work!

Re: Do you like your job?
Yes for the most part-
Pros- nice coworkers and bosses, flexible if I need to come in late or leave early bc of the kids, good amount of vacation time, not stressful (unlike a prior job I had before I switched careers)
Con- Pay is not great, and commuting can be a pain sometimes. Also no real opportunity for promotions since its a small department.

Do you like your job?
In April 2014 I was laid off from a job that I HATED!!! Woke up every morning thinking, "how am I going to get through the next 8 hours." I was miserable (and should have been looking for a new job.) Getting laid off was the best thing that ever happened to me. I decided to take the summer off and planned on looking for a new job starting that September. Well, a friend of DH mentioned a job opening where he worked (and he would be my boss), so I applied in May, they took all summer to interview (I had 3 interviews with them, in July, August & Sept) and was hired to start in Oct - couldn't have asked for it to work out any more perfectly. I was spoiled by having that summer off and now really know what I'm missing (lol), but, if I have to work (and I do), my current job is soooooo much better than my previous one - much less stressful for the most part and in a much better working environment - I have a lot of autonomy, flexibility and work with some really nice people. So, although I would prefer to not work at all, in answer to your question, yes, if I have to work, this is about as good as it gets.

Re: Do you like your job?
It's OK, but I like it. It's a 2-year contract, and I'm sort of looking forward to the end of it.
It's pretty full on for 8 months, but the other 4 months (in between semesters) are a lot easier. I can work from home and on my own time.

Do you like your job?
I like my coworkers and my boss and I work from home 50% of the time. Other than that, no, I don't like my job. It's extremely stressful, crazy deadlines and so much is out of my control. The pay isn't too bad, but the commute sucks on the days I go in. I would love to go into an entirely different industry but it would be tough to take a pay cut at the moment.

Re: Do you like your job?
I love my job. I've been here for 11 years.
I have great benefits, cool perks and awesome coworkers.
I genuinely like what I do every day and never wake up with a feeling of dread in my stomach. I did for a little while years ago - but then there were some changes made and everything got better again.

Re: Do you like your job?
I really like my job.
Pros:
My boss is very understanding and doesn't give me a hard time if I need time off for family reasons.
I like my co-worker.
It's a small medical office so I really enjoy seeing my patients and have a good relationship with many of them.
Cons:
I only have one co-worker so if she's off I NEED to be in.
I'm underpaid for all the work I do.

Re: Do you like your job?
Been here 21 years and it is a paycheck (and good benefits). I can deal with it until I retire in a few years.
I've been pigeonholed and maxed out what I do at my level a long time ago because I was born in the USA and I was born with female anatomy. Don't care anymore because I leave work at work and don't give a darn about anything once I walk out that door. I lost respect for my company a long time ago - and that sentiment hangs VERY heavy in the air here.

Re: Do you like your job?
I like what I do because I don't do much LOL I am an entirely overpaid babysitter to a CEO who can't find his way out of a paper bag, and there's really not much more to what I do than admin, scheduling, meetings, etc. So it's easy.
But I don't want to be reheating his meatballs for the rest of my life. I see some areas I could move up to - just have to decide if I want to be here long term.

Do you like your job?
I don't like my job. I go between hate and a paycheck. It's a nice place, my co-workers are fine, but I don't like the work I'm doing and that leads to a lot of anxiety.
I also feel incredibly guilty because I've made record-setting numbers and my bosses are thrilled, so I feel bad for not liking it. But I had to leave a job I loved for this (my husband was laid off and we needed benefits) so it's been hard.

Re: Do you like your job?
Fairly new job, part time 25 hours a week, people are very nice, just not enough to do. I'd rather not get paid and be able to go home when I'm done. So basically, I'm bored.

Re: Do you like your job?
i HATE my job.
the work itself is not bad at all. i like talking to people for the most part and i am good at what i do. the techs i work with are good men.
i can't stand the culture the owners have created in the office, though. it's a small, family-owned company and their crazy dysfunction affects so much.
i know i have issues and i'm going to therapy to work on them... these people make me look well adjusted and healthy. because of the therapy and working on myself, i NEED to get out of here... or this job will make me go crazier than i already am.
the money ain't horrible, but there are absolutely no benefits. it was a blessing when i moved here from NJ and had nothing. now, it's time to move on.

Do you like your job?
I always wanted to go into the entertainment industry, either TV or radio (not that kinda entertainment LOL). I ended up not getting far and going into what I do now. I LOVE it! I didn't in the beginning but after being a SAHM and realizing that wasn't for me. I LOVE what I do and LOVE the potential that I have in a career and growth.

Re: Do you like your job?
I'm somehwere between paycheck and hate as well.
I work in banking, and the industry is changing RAPIDLY. My position has been re-worked several times over the past few years and I forsee it being eliminated all together very shortly. I'm terrified because I have a 5 month old, bills to pay, and I've been doing this for 10+ years, so I don't have experience in many other fields. I need to work and I feel NO stability whatsoever

Re: Do you like your job?
I like the flexibility of it - I work from home. I wouldn't say I bound out of bed with excitement thinking "YES I get to work at this fulfilling job all day"..I would totally resign if i had enough dough but compare to my other options I feel lucky and I am happy to be working at this job during this period of my life.

Do you like your job?
I don't like the whiny or gossipy people there, which is 3/4 of the office. People love to complain. The flexibility I have though is what keeps me from leaving.

Re: Do you like your job?
I've been working with my company for a little over 4 years and am happy with the way my career is progressing. I was recently offered a position in my corporate office, and will be transferring down there at the end of the summer. Can't really complain
