I liked my maiden name more (notice the past tense though)

I like them both. However, my married name isn't as far down the alpahbet (I always hated being last) & it's easier for people to spell & pronounce (which I'll never get since my maiden name was only 4 letters!).

I don't mind. My maiden name was a lot less common which I liked. On the other hand no one mispronounces my married name.
The only thing that bothers me about my married name is my maiden name started with a B and my new name starts with an M. I always had 8am pictures for the yearbook my poor future children will have awful recess and gym hair in their yearbook photos.
I went from an L last name to a W and I feel bad that my kids will sit in the back of the class where all the trouble is!

I dropped my middle name and made my maiden name my middle name
Same for me. I went from one Italian name to another.

I kept my maiden name, but they are both Irish and very similar. I didn't take my DH's last name because it's an old celtic spelling and nobody EVER spells it right.

HELL YEAH! My married name is Irish and goes a hell of a lot better with Kathleen than my long Polish name! People used to say "how could your mother give you an Irish first name with a Polish last name" not to mention that is none of anyone's damn business ( Mom is Irish/Italian) BUT now I don't have to explain it!

I like my maiden name because of the sentimental value, but my married name is easier to say/spell. Even though everyone always says it wrong.
Now nrthshgrl is stuck with my maiden name! Sorry!

I like my maiden name better. It's a very uncommon Sicilian name, as opposed to DH's last name which is very un-ethnic and boring! It even has one syllable (so does my first name). I took his name anyway though. The only good part is that people can pronounce my married name but almost NO ONE can pronounce my maiden name correctly!

my maiden name was 5 letters and my married name is 10....and it starts with a Z. I miss my maiden name
One of the guys I work with just came over (bc I recently changed it) and said how sorry he was for me

I like my married name but I think my maiden name goes better with my first name. I still go by my maiden name at work though.

I love the reaction I receive with my married name. I have a Chinese last name but I have blonde hair, blue eyes and VERY fair skin.

I love my hyphenated name, its a little bit Jewish, a little big bland. My husband comes from Viking stock, but they lost the last name battle generations ago.
