Do you notice this if you boil water for your DC? - Especially bottled water users

For the past week I've been trying powdered formula so I've been boiling water multiple times a day. i use bottled water and boil it for five minutes.

I get a strange brown stain on the pot and it won't come out? At first I thought it was just the pot but I have since used two more different pots and got the same dark brownish stain - WHAT THE HECK IS THIS??? Is it coming out of the water Chat Icon

They are different brands - two are all clad and the other is farberware.

I haven't been washing the pots immediately since it is just boiled water - maybe this is letting the residue set in? But still, what the heck is coming out of this water? Maybe I will try using the tap...

Not sure. but i googled it and it was saying how aluminum pots can get that brown stain and to remove you can use lemon. Didnt really say why it happened.

You have to clean the pots, even if you're just re-boiling water. Residue builds up in there.

You try and boil a cup of vinegar in the pot for a few minutes and then let cool and rinse it out with water.

I did this, but used a teapot, so I couldn't really see inside of it so well.

I did wash it every day though--the unused water sat, and I figured there would be some bacteria.

I definitely washed it at least every day just not every time. BUT, that doesn't seem to be the issue b/c it happened iwth a new pot and i tried to wash it after boiling it once and it still wont come off!
