Does Anyone Not Boil Tap Water to Make Formula?
Just curious. I had read in "What to Expect" that boiling water in most towns is unecessary, and my ped. said the same thing. I guess I'm wondering if I should boil it first though.

I buy jugs of bottled water and use that. For the first month I used tap water until my MIL freaked out. I got used to using the bottled water and stuck with it until DD was old enough to go on plain milk.

it seems everyone says something different. My ped said to always boil..including bottled water.
YOur tap water is regulated , bottled water is not, and IMO is more dangerous to use then your tap water.
I use Nursery water, its pre sterilized and its cheaper then bottled water.

Re: Does Anyone Not Boil Tap Water to Make Formula?
I've been using tap water that goes through a Pur filter, but I often read that people do boil, so I'm questioning whether this really is safe.
One issue with boiling though--what do you do in the middle of the night? The powdered formula says not to make bottles in advance, and I can't see him happily waiting for the water to boil and cool down.
Thanks!

I have never heard of not making bottles in advance..I have always made bottles in advance and store them in the fridge in regard to the water being hot, you boil it the day before and leave it in a tupperware container so its room temp when you want to use it

I boiled the water until about 3 months. I was told it wasnt necessary but I'd always been told to do it with my older kids until that time..so I just couldnt help myself.

You can make bottles in advance. They can stay in the fridge up to 24 hrs.
