Re: Do you prefer a Male or Female Doctor?
I really don't have a preference, but most of the doctors I've ever been to have been male. The two male drs I've seen for OBGYN appointments have had an excellent bedside manner.

Re: Do you prefer a Male or Female Doctor?
Every single female ob/gyn I've been to I have HATED. They were rougher, one actually hurt me pretty badly during an exam and I find them to be colder and not as caring for some reason (I am sure they are not all like this!!)
I ADORE the male doctors in my practice. I saw three of them while pregnant with Johnny and they were incredible. Luckily the two I loved best delivered him...it made me really happy it worked out that way!

Re: Do you prefer a Male or Female Doctor?
The first doctor I went to in my teens was a female, but after that they were all males. The practice I am with now has 2 males and 2 females. Love the one female (if I make it to Monday she will be on call when I am induced) and don't really like the other one. Both males are fine. I never really had a preference either way, but now I find myself always making my appointments with the one female doc even though anyone of them could potentially be on call for delivery.

Re: Do you prefer a Male or Female Doctor?
I had a weird experience with a female so I only prefer males.

Re: Do you prefer a Male or Female Doctor?
I really don't care if the doctor is male or female. I'm more concerned with their medical knowledge and track record with delivering babies. The practice I chose has both and they usually alternate me between them to make sure I'll be comfortable with either during the delivery.

After having both, I prefer female. Much more involved and interested in what I have to say.

Re: Do you prefer a Male or Female Doctor?
I don't really care either way. After going through 8 months of infertility procedures and testing, so many people have seen me in the stirrups that I don't even think about it anymore!

Re: Do you prefer a Male or Female Doctor?
male definitely!!!
my gyn is a female and she's nice but that's about it. almost fake nice.
my obgyn is a male and he's so much friendlier--like a REAL person. i'm so glad he'll be the one at my delivery

Re: Do you prefer a Male or Female Doctor?
I prefer male. every female I have seen has no bed side manner. The men have been more gentle and a better bed side manner.
