Do you provide food for your babysitter/mother's helper?
So, I'm hiring someone for the first time to come be a mother's helper for my twins one day next week so I can get some things done.
I won't be leaving the house.
Is this a dumb question...?  Do I provide food for her lunch? (if she doesn't bring anything with her?) 
She'll be here 9:30 - 2:30.

I would. When you have lunch I would have her join, if you do not eat then around noon I would tell her to help herself or off a few choices.

My mom watches my daughter during the day and I always have stuff for her to eat and drink.

Yes, I tell them to help themselves to anything in the fridge or cabinets. We will always have cold cuts and bread on hand for them.

My sister watches my girls once a week and she is just the type to bring her little lunch and snacks so I don't provide lunch. She can help herself to whatever I have in the house though. But my mom is watching them today so I made sure to have stuff.

Yes, that's a long time to expect someone not to eat! I'd have lunch and snack foods for her.

I always tell my sitter to help herself to anything. If I leave her over a meal time and expect her to feed the kids, then I usually leave her money and tell her to order whatever she wants.
