Do you return gifts that aren't your style?

I feel so bad about this, but I got a nice outfit from babygap that I just don't think DS will wear. It is a white cardigan and white pants...and I just don't see DS wearing it and I hate to waste such a cute outfit.

It was from a family friend, she'd never know the difference, and she gave me a gift receipt, but I feel bad about returning a nice gift from someone

Am I just weird?

When you said all white that's what I was thinking, ha!

I go to both, but more often to Smithaven. They have better clearance at that one too.

i am not loving the ALL white idea myself. I was in there today. There are some great outfits for the fall.

Apparently I should have brought it and he could have gone to the white party this weekend

Ok, good. I think I will go Tuesday when school starts for all of the kids.

Yes! If I don't like it or I feel the material isn't good I will return it for something better.

I'd return it. She gave you the gift receipt which clearly says to me...if you want...return it. Get something that DS can get some use out of.
I know I'd rather have someone get what they will wear rather than keep my gift in a closet.

I've returned a ton of stuff that people gave Lily! I'm the one who dresses her, and I certainly play favorites when it comes to her outfits...so I didn't think it was fair to keep the outfits I didn't like - she'd never wear them!

Don't feel bad. Apparently your family member thought about it since you have the gift receipt.

I would just say that a white outfit is almost out of season now so go get something DC can wear in the fall and maybe in a bigger size.

Don't feel bad! I think the person would rather that you got something you would use than to have their money spent on something you will bypass in the closet everyday. I know I wouldn't mind if I were the person who gave the gift. Plus she gave you a gift receipt. It's not like you don't appreciate it. Enjoy shopping for cute Gap goodies with your credits.

Definitely return it! If I gave someone a gift they didn't like, I would so much rather they got something else they could use than keep something they won't touch.

Return it and get a credit to buy something YOU like. I rarely put DS in clothes that I dont like on him

Return it! I always feel guily returning things and end up never using some things. I keep it just because it was a gift, and then never put it on him because I don't like it. So, def get something you like!!!!!

All the time. You should have seen some of the dorky things people got Cailen. Nice gesture, and a lot of money - would be a waste if they werent returned for something he would wear!!! Go for it!!!

I always return stuff. If i don't like it..it goes back. Especially if i get 2 of the same things.

I do! I returned an outfit DH boss got her- it was a sundress from Nordstom's for $90 I thought that was rediculous!

Please don't feel badly. DS got a gift from a close friend of my MILs and both my MIL and I did not like the outfit so my MIL volunteered to return it for me.

I do. I do it because it's a waste on everyone's part if my kids will never wear it.
