Do you rotate obgyns in the practice? Have you met everyone who can possibly deliver you?

I'm 34 weeks pregnant and have only met with my 1 obgyn. I'm going to request meeting my doctor's colleagues who can possibly be on call when I go into labor.

Have you rotated with everyone in the practice?

I delivered DS#1 at a different hospital with a different doctor. I had seen 6 of the 7 doctors at that practice. With my luck, the one who delivered me was the ONE doctor who I had never met before.

There are 3 drs that deliver in my practice starting towards the end of the 2nd tri, they make you schedule an appt with the 2 that are not your primary dr. I saw all 3 last time and I will see all 3 this time as well.

There are two doctors in my practice and you alternate them when you are pregnant. There is a third doctor from another practice who does deliveries. I couldn't fit an appt with him my last pregnancy, but I am actually meeting him next month.

I don't rotate, I'm very comfortable with my Dr. I just hope she will be on call when the time comes to deliver.

There is the owner of the practice and his assoicate in my OB's px. I have seen both, but prefer the owner over the associate.

I'm lucky that there are only 2 Drs in my practice and I LOVE both.

However with #1 I was told about 2 weeks before my due date I should have been rotating the whole pregnancy since there were about 17 dr's and it was whoever was on call.

I am supposed to start rotating starting with my next appointment (28 weeks). There are 5 or 6 drs. in my practice, so they want me to at least meet each one. I think it is a good idea.

My practice has 9 doctors, and I've been rotating the entire time. They are at 3 different offices though so I know I haven't seen all of them, but I've seen like 6 or 7 of them.

I had seen each OB in the practice by 20w.

There are 8 doctors in my practice. I met 7/8 of them by 37w (one of them took a year off to teach). I loved 6 of them and thought the other one who totally fine but not a personable person at all. I also met their Physician's Assistant, and I'm thanking my lucky stars that she doesn't do deliveries.

I have 4 in my office and they make you have appointments with them all just in case your Dr isn't available on your day. So far it's worked out, plus I have more times to choose from for the appointments.

My practice has 7 different doctors. Over the years I have met them all. I make my appointments for when I can make it. Sometimes I see the same doc for weeks, sometimes I rotate. The doc that is doing my c-section is one that I have seen the fewest times. No biggie, I know they will all visit me in the hospital!!!

There are a lot of Dr.s in my practice, and so far I've met about 4 of them and am meeting a 5th next time, nobody has told me I have to see them all, it just worked out that I've seen a few b/c of the time/day of appt I needed...but I try to request the same 1 everytime I make an appt, and I've seen my favorite 3 times now.

The way I see it is that I'd rather have consistent care throughout my pregnancy...the Dr. who delivers is basically just there to catch the baby, and by the time he/she comes I doubt I will care who it is, or if I know them...

there are only 2 doctors in the practice so i know them both.

however, at the hospital they are affiliated with, they rotate the on-call with other OBs in the area, not just the ones in their group, so chances are very likely i will have someone i don't even know! last time, i was lucky--- i had both of my own doctors dring my labor.

3 docs that deliver at my practice.

At 23 wks, I've met with all 3 of them at some point.

I have met all of them and have been examined by all of them. I'm pretty comfortable with all 3

ETA: one thing that I like about my practice is that the 3 docs usually go over a "situation" with each other b4 deciding what course of action to take, unless of course its a huge emergency. This way you don't get 10 different opinions.

I've met with all but one. They rotate for each visit since I started going. I am happy to say I like them all.

They have 4 doctors at my practice and I have met with all- I've seen most 2/3 times now with the exception of one which I'm not too crazy over...

There are 5 doctors in the practice where I go and we're required to meet with all of them. I met with the last one in December and now I'm free to see whoever I want/feel most comfortable with.

There are 5 OB's that deliver in my practice...............I made the rounds and saw 4 of the 5 at least once during my pregnancy, but my main OB I saw most of all.

The one OB I didn't get to have an appointment with (because I delivered 3 days before my appointment with her!) ended up being the OB making hospital rounds on 2 days out of my 4 day stay-ummm and now she's my BFF.

The practice I belong to has 5 or 6 doctors and I know they require you see all of them. Once you see all of them you can see any doctor.
I think if you have a schedule c-section you can request the doctor but if you go into labor on your own it is who ever is on-call that day/night.

It's actually policy at my OBGYN practice that they want you to see everyone at least once for that reason but I also don't get to choose who will deliver. It just all depends on whose on that day.
