Re: Do you send thank you cards after your child's birthday party?
Always - personally for me, it's the right thing to do. Although i don't disagree with those who said they don't send them to immediate family and who they open the gift in front of.
Today I got a group email saying "sorry my mom didn't get around to sending thank you notes" so thank you for your gift....
I get it - she's a busy mom, and it takes alot of time to write them out... i'm not offended all that much but i did think to myself, why the heck do we spend time writing these when alot of people don't? I will still write them though. Or make my kids write them.

Of course. I can't believe there are people who admittedly say they don't.
I don't and I'm not embarrassed by it one single bit. My bridal shower, my wedding, my baby shower, my kids' big first birthday parties, all yes to sending out thoughtful handwritten thank you cards. For my two kids that attend over 30 little birthday parties a year? Nope. I don't think it's necessary. It's not like a formal party with a formal gift. We are all going to each other's kids' birthdays at bounce places and such and we are all giving the same $25/$30 gifts. I'm not saying the gift amount isn't great enough, just that imo it's informal. I thank everyone who attends and I'm always thoughtful about other people's parties- always making an effort to attend and trying to buy gifts the child will appreciate.

Do you send thank you cards after your child's birthday party?
Yes, always, but I would agree that is not the norm. I would say 1/4 of the parties we get written thank you notes, 1/2 I get emails or texts from the moms (sometimes with a picture of their child playing with the present I gave) and 1/4 no response at all.
