Never. We order our own dishes. Sometimes we’ll try a bite of each other’s food, but not all the time.

Sometimes DH will ask me what I'm ordering and I'll say it's between two things and he'll say let's get them both and split it. Otherwise, no. DH will almost always sample some of mine, but I just want what I ordered.

My dh always wants to know what I am ordering and tries to convince me to order something he likes so he can have "just a bite" which actually means eat 1/2 of whatever I get. Its become a big joke between us. He gets sort of pissy when I order something he doesn't really want. If I was dating someone new I might think it was weird but someone I was with a long time or my dh I'd think nothing of it. Sometimes we agree to order things we both want and share it but most times we just order what we want and than he takes a bit of whatever I get.

If we mutually agree on what we’re getting, Then sometimes we’ll split it evenly but usually no... we do offer each other a few bites of whatever we each ordered.

unless we decide to share what we order the plate of food in front of me is mine. Letting each other take a taste is different

No! I don't like sharing my food lol. DH always likes to order red meat, which I'm not a huge fan of, so this wouldn't work for us.

We share apps but main dish we offer each other a taste. Unless of course we order a few entrees, then we split everything. Depends on the place and level of hunger.

I guess I just don‘t understand how someone could not share. I mean sharing is caring. I wouldn‘t expect to share so much at a steak restaurant or somewhere like a 5 star place. But an Indian, Sushi, Thai, Chinese place? That stuff is made for sharing.

Even at some Italian places the food should be shared. However, the Italian places are kind of different here. Some are upscale and most of them are pizza and pasta places. There is a very large Italian community here.

I do not share at German restaurants when we go out. I just don‘t like some of the food there.

It really depends. When eating at a restaurant, we tend to keep our own plates in front of us just because that's easier, but we usually give each other a bite or two of our food to taste, more if the other person really likes it or is still hungry. The only time we share from the middle of the table is at "family style" restauants where they give you huge portions with the intention of sharing. When we get take out, we tend to share more bc we have to put the food on plates from the take out containers. But I usually dont like what DH orders, so I dont usually take his food anyway. But I do share with him since he likes pretty much everything. We have been know to share a burger or sandwich by passing it back and forth, though. Now that we have kids, it's pretty much a free-for-all anyway.

No way! We do not share. I order what I want to eat, and DH does the same. The same goes when I go out with my parents, siblings, friends. We will sometimes share an appetizer if we discuss and agree first. That goes for all types of restaurants, even at Indian, Chinese, etc.

i am shocked at how many NOs are out there lol

i guess i'm in the minority. SO and i will plan our meals so we can have different foods. since i had gastric bypass a million years ago, i don't eat the quantity of a "regular" portion... so it's wasted food or a doggy bag.

we'll order two different items and split them.

now, SO is VERY PICKY and he is allergic to avocado. so i will let him know when i'm in the mood for something i know he won't like or has avocado, this way he knows he's flying solo.

BUT... the one thing i CAN'T STAND is to have someone (even SO or DS) reach over and just stick their fork in my food. i will stab you with my fork.

I mean if you’re at a tapas place or it’s agreed upon that you’re going with a group for drinks and apps, then yes, I’d feel ok with that.

But entree type meals that would involve cutting or serving and re-plating? Absolutely not.

Nope. An appetizer or a salad, sure but we never share entrees. DH will finish mine if I don't eat it all though lol.

We will be conscious of what we order. We won't order 2 beef meals... We share but it is more a few bites here and there.

Id say its 50/50. We have similar likes and dislikes.

We lean more towards you can eat more variety if you share 2 apps and 1 meal. Plus we both hate being stuffed. Prefer to enjoy a few drinks rather than be full! .

Nope. My meal is my meal, yours is yours. I'll gladly share a bite but not the whole thing. Not unless it's something we discussed, like if we get a bunch of apps instead of actual entrees and just split it all.
