Do you still go to bars/clubs?

I used to party a lot when I was younger (single and before kids). I feel like I've drifted apart from a lot of friends because I'm now married with kids and now pregnant while many of our friends are still single or married without kids.

One of DH's closest friends has a birthday party at a club and one of my old closest friends is having a pseudo engagement party at a bar this week. All our old friends will be there.

Would you go?

I am 27-28 weeks pregnant.
I'm thinking of just going for an hour to say hi to people I haven't seen for a long time.

Am I just going to look ridiculous going?

If it is at a bar, I dont see the big deal- especially if you are going just to say "hi" & then heading out, Totally understandable- especially since you are pregnant. I'm sure your friends will appreciate your effort to see them! A club however, may be a bad idea- very crowded, very loud and the constant standing & getting pushed around probably wouldn't be suitable for you

If you decide to not go to either, I would hope your friends understand!

I went to a bar 17 weeks pregnant with twins for a very close friend bday. Honestly, I thought I'd be embarrassed but I had a great time and didn't give a crap about what anyone might be thinking.

However, with that said, I am not normally one to go out and hang at bars/clubs unless it is for someone/something. If I have my pick for a night out it would be to a nice restaurant to enjoy a meal with DH (and friends) without a child tugging at my leg or picking food off my plate

Yes, if there's a social event going on I still go to our local bar ... that's where DH and his friends hang out. We are the only ones who live in an apartment and I don't want them always coming over here, so why not? I don't mind going ... plus I like the food at the bar anyway.

But do DH and I go out to the bar by ourselves? Nope!

I would if I could just stay awake like I used to! I would love to go dance again, but 10pm is pushing it for me now!

I'd go to the bar for the pseudo engagement party. I've never been a big club person so it would totally depend on the club and how loud/crowded it gets, but that likely would have been the case even pre pregnancy. I'm not a big crowded type place person.

I went to a 30th Surprise Birthday party at a bar when I was 21 weeks. I would totally go!

DH and I love going to bars with friends and just hanging out.

My 31st birthday, I invited about 20 ppl to come out to Croxley's and just enjoy, even though I was pregnant and couldn't partake in any festivities. It's pretty sad when the bartender looks at you and says "Wait....YOU'RE NOT DRINKING?!?!?"

We haven't gone out much lately, just haven't been feeling it.

I would go and dont see anything wrong with it.

Ive been to bars and clubs since being preggo, but I did turn down one bday party at one club because the last time I was there half the club was filled with sloppy drunk people and the other half were high as a kite so I didnt trust anyone not to bump into me and whatnot. Plus at the time I was still nauseas so I knew just the smells of sweaty people and liquor would make me sick.

You should totally go! You'll have so much fun and I always feel better having a fun, nice place to go and a reason to dress up.

I went with my first DC around 7 or 8 months preggo. I actually met a friend in the city.
It's funny how nice pple are. I didn't go to a crazy bar or anything. It was a restaurant bar and there was 2 pple ahead of me in line for the bathroom and they both told me I could go ahead. I was fine and waited, but pple are nice. I even got a stool offered to me.

I would go! It's totally fine. The only reason I would go is for other people. I'm not into bars to begin with so it's only for special occasions I may go.

I really don't understand the issue with going out ANYWHERE while you're pregnant - I was in bars at 38 weeks PG with Sean - I'd do it again in a heart beat - What the hell are we supposed to do? Sit at home alone and miss out on 40 weeks of life b/c we're knocked up ?? As if !!

When i found out i was pregnant and even though its something on worked on for months and struggled with i had something happen to me...i knew my life would change after baby came......and i started going out EVERY WEEKEND! I actually went to a bar and then a club with my coworkers and was out pretty late- had a great time...I might as well get it out now while i can cuz my arse will be sitting home with my LO.

I say go- I went to a bar with friends when I was 28 weeks pregnant...I felt weird and sort of stayed in the corner, sitting, and covered up. I lasted about 2 hours and then it was time to go.

You won't look ridiculous-I say go! Even if it's just for an hour your friends, and DH's friends will appreciate you making the effort.

I totally go. went to a b-day party at a karaoke bar a few weeks ago, and took DH to a bar/club where our wedding band was playing about 2 weeks ago too and I was 29 weeks then. . I think it's fine. As long as there is at least one bar stool you can kick someone off of when your feet hurt!!

you should definitely go. I was in bars several times up to very late into my pregnancy with DD for various reasons (parties, watch football etc). I never felt awkward...in fact, I actually liked the attention that people would give me..I always got a seat which cant be said for other times I have gone! Enjoy!

Ill be at a bar tomorrow for a happy hour pre new years celebration and im 37 weeks pregnant. I dont see anything wrong with it, its not like ill be chugging down beers or anything I would totally go and have a great time!

While I dont normally, when I was pregnant with DS I went to a bachelorette party in the city where we went to a few different bars/clubs. I can't remember how far along I was but I would say probably 20+ weeks

Yep. Still like to watch sports in that kind of setting. Also, we have childfree friends that we like to hang out with and they go to lots of bars and bar/restaurants.

Yup we still go out to bars! I don't mind being a DD for DH or friends! But we probably just don't stay out as late as we used to

I go out to bars to meet friends all the time. I didn't go too much when I was feeling very sick because the smell of beer would send me over the edge (and I love beer), but otherwise, why not?! I refuse to stop having fun just because I am pg. I am not a big club person, so that is never too much fun for me. If someone was having a party, I would go and use being pg as an excuse to not have to stay too long (that is the type of place where I need a few cocktails to enjoy it!).

i would go to a bar to hang out for a friend's event and can totally still have a good time with just a sprite , i would not go to a club but i have never been a club person and all that standing around and loud music wouldnt be fun for me.

I went to a bar at 24 weeks and felt stupid even though I was drinking water.... but if its for a party then go and enjoy.... especially if they have food! I am huge now so I wouldn't but that's also bc the smell of any liquor makes me very sick.
