Do you swaddle your baby ALL day long or just at night?
There are times when the baby is sleepy and sleeps no matter what he is in. Then when he is fussy, swaddling doesn't seem to work.
Was curious if you kept your NB swaddled all the time or just at night when you are trying to have the baby sleep.

I would swaddle my DD when I wanted her to go down for bedtime and did it once in a while for a nap in her bassinet. Ultimately, I only did it for nighttime. I would think that since yo don't want the baby to sleep all day long, just swaddle when you want the baby to sleep or if you think the baby is tired and cannot self-soothe.
If you get a chance, check out "The Happiest Baby on the Block." There is a book and a video- I only had time for the video and it was great! It talks about swaddling and calming a fussy baby. So informative!

I only swaddle for nightime, but that is just me. For naps, we don't swaddle, but that also means that he won't nap in the bassinet. Napping usually takes place in the boppy, bouncy or swing. We get good naps out of the bouncy.
I asked the ped if there is any harm with swaddling for naps too, and there isn't. I need to start introducing the crib, so I plan to swaddle him for one nap a day in his crib.
I like to keep the swaddling to nights only to establish a routine early.

DD takes just about all her naps in her crib or bassinet. Anytime she is in one of those she gets swaddled (and we only swaddle and unswaddle in the crib/bassient). If she naps in her swing or carseat, obviously we don't swaddle.

You should not swaddle all day. You should ask your ped but I remember reading/being told that you cannot do more than a certain amount during the day.
I did it at night and some naps during the day.

I only swaddle at night when he goes in his crib. During the day he usually naps only on me, unfortunately.

i have also heard this..only through the nite, it has to do with hip joint growth or something i believe..being restricted for that long suring the day prevents it i believe..

i'm thinking I will just swaddle him at night and when he is very fussy.
