Do you take things from work?
I needed an envelope today for a personal matter so I used a "company" envelope.
I put my own stamp on it and I didn't think it was a big deal, but our department admin just pointed out that technically I "stole" the envelope.
I guess she's right, but it's not like I do it all the time - I was just in a pinch. (And couldn't go out on my lunch hour because of a meeting.)
Do you ever use/take/steal things from your company? Pens, pencils, etc??

Re: Do you take things from work?
Yes. I don't stock my house with office supplies, but I don't think it's a big deal to take and envie or a pen here or there.

Notebooks for school. They pay for school so I figure they wouldn't mind if I take a notebook for class.

Re: Do you take things from work?
Yes- not often, but yes. I don't consider it stealing. Only if it is massive amounts of office supplies on a regular basis

Re: Do you take things from work?
Yes, copy machine paper for the printer.
Considering I take hours of work home with me and have to supply my own classroom supplies (at least $200 a year) I feel it's justified.

Re: Do you take things from work?
Oh my goodness, I can't believe ONE envelope they had the nerve to say something to you. If my company ONLY KNEW what I take. Pens, post-its, tape, paper.... I know it's bad but when I look at my pay, they owe me

Re: Do you take things from work?
depends on how you look at it...
I'm allowed to do a lot of my work from home. So, I need "supplies" to get work done from home...
