Do you think criminals should be allowed to play the lottery?
Saw this on CNN: Level 3 Sex Offender Wins Big in Lottery
Do you think criminals convicted of felony crimes should be allowed to play the lottery? Or more specfically, be entitled to the winnings?

Re: Do you think criminals should be allowed to play the lottery?
No.I thought people who are convicted of crimes are Not allowed to gamble. Where will the money go to? The state. I could be wrong, But it's a question I'm asking.

Re: Do you think criminals should be allowed to play the lottery?
I don't see how you could inforce it
if someone went to jail and paid there debt to society- I don't see why they wouldn't be entitled to the winnings
that doesn't mean the victims shouldn't sue them for it
unless it's part of there probation that they aren't suppose to gamble- then I am not sure what should happen to it
it just seems impossible to enforce

when he gets out of jail, he is just like anyone else... he "paid" his time and thats it...
since he is a sex offender, he is pretty much scared for life with the sex offender list...

In the case I posted, the sex offender list wasn't doing much good since the "lottery winner" never notified the CT or MA authorities that he moved to MA. He's also a repeat offender (convicted 6 times).
