Not a waste at all. This is incredibly labor intensive. We typically pay $550.00 but this is for an acre.

We did and we thought it was so worth it. He did such a nice job and now all we have to do is keep up with it.

Yes because they do thatching. I tried to do this myself and my arms wear killing me within minutes.

Personally, DH loves to play in the yard so he would never consider it. But if it was a huge hassel for you then go for it!!

My mom and dad had someone come and do a cleanup of their yard and it was SUCH a mess, and only was around $500. I was just expecting it to be more because they seriously hadn't raked the leaves in like 3 years. 
The guys did a great job and their yard is so much more managable now. I would say that you should do it.

i dont... we did it last year and it gave us a beautiful lawn last summer.....
we're doing it again this year.... what would have taken us a whole day of not more... they did in about 2-3 hours.... it was great!!! bewtween the seed and fertilizer alone... it's worth the money!!

It's really something that's up to you. DH & I both love working in a yard - I grew up with 3.5 acres, so I'm used to it.
