Heck no. Suck it up and get over it. Shampoo, mouth wash, etc. Can all be replaced. Who cares about possessions or wasted money when we are talking life and death ?? Chat Icon

i agree...big deal, people just dont like to wait in line, and I think that is the case. But i would rather wait and feel safe then to not

The shampoo thing doesn't bother me. IMO that does not need to be a carry on and is only a $4 item if lost. But I am flying to CA with my daughter next month and things that I am bothered by are no laptops, I-Pod's, digital cameras, cell phones, alarm pads for cars, etc. I don't want to put my laptop in my suitcase. What happens if my suitcase gets lost. Then not only do I have to worry about losing my laptop but I'm also in school for an online program for school. I can't be without my laptop for a couple of days.

That's just for flights in/out and within the UK. Travel within the US, they have not restricted those items (yet) The only items you cannot bring in your carry on are those liquid items they've mentioned.

I do feel that people have the right to complain if they want. However, in light of today's events, I can't see why on earth anyone would complain. I would rather wait in a line for hours and get on a plane knowing it is as safe as can be than wait 5 minutes and someone get on who should not be there,IMO.

I was complaining today - not because of the regulations or being put out of my way. I am SO grateful to be protected.

I was complaining about these terrorist A**holes who make it necessary for these new regulations. Seriously, I don't know why, but I was so ANGRY this morning when I heard about this latest plot.

well if you are going to be angry, you might as well be angry at the terrorists responsible for all of this Chat Icon

That's what I said - re-read my post.

I said I was angry at the terrorists.

Is it an inconvenience, sure. But no one should truly complain. And I'll be so annoyed if at the airport people are still trying to get liquids on--this is what's causing the long wait. it's for our safety.

NO, I think they should just keep quiet. Would they rather risk their life for a shampoo bottle??? I don't think so. People are just being petty..Chat Icon Chat Icon

ETA: This might be a new thing now...not being able to bring carry-ons on the plane now. Good, it's for our safety. People will just have to adjust to the "new" way of doing things. It's not our country's fault, they're just looking to protect us. Be angry at the terrorists who put us all in this situation.

I cannot understand why people complain for that, nor can I understand why people complain when they have to take their shoes off or they get pulled aside to get their bags checked before boarding.
It's not a personal affront, it's a safety measure ... deal with it.

Re: do you think people have a right to complain about the new regulations in airports after the recent terrorist attempt?

I can understand why people would complain. It is an annoyance. Is it better for our safety - of course! But still, just another annoying thing to deal with because people are evil and stupid in this world.
However, as much as I'd like to believe that all this will protect us better, as I was watching GMA this morning, one of the newswomen showed footage of herself flying from (I belive it was LA) to Chicage. She carried on her half finished bottle of water - totally on top of her carryon, not even like she was trying to hide it, and they showed a man getting on a plane with his Starbucks frappachino. So, really, unless these restrictions are universal, what the heck good is it?Chat Icon

I never understood why people complain about this. Would they rather there be no security, but fast lines? Patience is a dying thing.Chat Icon I think all the impatient people should be allowed to go on planes with fast lines and no security. Maybe that'll solve the problem.Chat Icon

Re: do you think people have a right to complain about the new regulations in airports after the recent terrorist attempt?

No, no right to complain.

But it will be a problem for the airlines to get all the luggage on the plane. Travelers need to learn how to pack - and to ship items they purchase that can't go in checked baggage.

I travel a lot. I don't carry a big carry-on, and get annoyed at people who do. I don't mind waiting if it means we will be safer.

But I DO mind the people who try to get through security without removing their shoes (duh!), emptying their pockets or taking off their jackets and have to go back and fortha a few times -- THIS is what is holding up the process more than anything!!

Re: do you think people have a right to complain about the new regulations in airports after the recent terrorist attempt?

I think everyone has the right to complain...but in light of recent events I cannot imagine WHY anyone would choose to complain now. Just deal - it is what it is. I would hope that people would be more concerned with safety than convenience.

But that's just more of our entitled society rearing its ugly head again. Chat Icon

I feel the same way about the security measures taken -- if they are not applied to everyone then why bother. People prepared to die for their cause are not going to be bullied or intimidated by the visable measures we see in the airports.

Back in Jan 2002, on THE day security was bumped up significantly we were travelling with my sister & BIL. The airline employee gave my boarding pass to my sister, meanwhile I was across the room. And I saw someone get on a plane with a photo copy of their birth certificate - no photo ID.

Oh an another time the rivet on my skirt beeped with the hand scanner and they just took my word for what it was instead of taking a second to confirm it.

Re: do you think people have a right to complain about the new regulations in airports after the recent terrorist attempt?

Having just flown home from Chicago last night, I want to weigh in.

There seems to be a lot of inconsistency at the airports on WHAT can't be brought on.

Some security people were making women throw out ALL of the cosmetics they had in the purses along with their eye drops, bottled water, etc.

I was more fortunate with my makeup, but I must have spent $15 dollars on various bottles of water throughout the airport that had to be thrown out after each checkpoint. Plus with the 3 hour delay, it made life even more difficult.

But, did I complain? No. But, I was one of the more lucky people.

Re: do you think people have a right to complain about the new regulations in airports after the recent terrorist attempt?

The more I think about it... my biggest complaint is that the process of flying is becoming more difficult for everyone because of a few a-holes.

Am I glad that they're in place for our protection? Of course. It just sucks that we have to be protected and can't just feel safe.

I can't understand why anyone will complain. I do not have any problem with the rules because it is being implemented to protect us and to keep us safe.

My mom flew today and they were not allowing cell phones to be carried on. So I don't think it's only from UK to US.

people should not complain at all, I mean, what is the alternative?

People need to have patience and deal with it like everyone else. I for one am happy when I see the airlines restricting certain things and checking luggage. It makes me feel a little safer Chat Icon

Re: do you think people have a right to complain about the new regulations in airports after the recent terrorist attempt?

If I had to fly early yesterday morning with NO clue as to what had happened and I was in the airport watching them throw away my make up and small toiletries that I normally put in my carry on - yes, I would be annoyed.

But since I know what happened and the reason why these new rules will be implemented - nope, I'm not going to complain. I will put it all in my luggage and just deal with it.
