Both my kids were early talkers, Jaidy was just more articulate at a younger age. Damien walked first but only by a month.

I don't think it's necessarily true. I think it just depends on the child. I also think genetics play a role. For example, Ava started to talk at a ridiculously young age. She had a handful of words at six months and by a year was speaking in full sentences. Which sounds pretty amazing, except that my ENTIRE family: aunts, cousins, siblings, etc., all spoke around the same age. All of us were speaking in sentences by a year old, so it's not odd for our family. However, Ava was also crawling at 5.5 months and running by 10 months, whereas I never crawled and didn't even ROLL OVER until after TEN months old! So I could talk to you at 10 months, but not roll over It is what it is. And guess what? I could never roll over or crawl, but I'm incredibly smart and intelligent, so really, milestones and when you reach them don't mean all that much.

My DS is neither. He spoke later than all his baby friends (he really started having consistent words after 1 year) and he is still not walking at 14.5 months, although he is taking steps.
Give me a couple of years and I'll get back to you after I have my girl
