Do you think this will look weird?
I need to get some window treatments for Sasha's room.. and I think I am going to get these.
I have a double window and a single window in there. I am going to get the drapes for the double window, but the issue is the single window. It's so close to the corner that I think drapes will look terrible since there won't be enough room and the corresponding valance has a different top than the drapes. I already called and asked them if they can be customized so that the top is the same, and they can't do it.

Do you have a picture? I am having a hard time visualizing why the single window is too small.
Another option would be to buy the fabric and have someone on Etsy make them.

I love the panels, but I don't love the valance (its not that I don't like the idea of a valance on that window, I just don't like that specific valance with those panels). I would just do panels on both windows.

Re: Do you think this will look weird?
I don;t have any pics-- and we don't live there yet, but I was there again on Wed and I have only a few inches from the frame around the window to the wall. I just don't think there is enough space to accommodate the panel on that side and it would look too big for the space..
I personally think it would look ok if I did a valance on the single window--but I don't like that the tops are not the same for the consistency.

Re: Do you think this will look weird?
How do you feel about a single panel that gets pulled from one side so it closes?
I'm thinking - so it gets pulled across the window on an angle? block some light/privacy?

thats a great idea- we have a similar set-up in our living room- wider window on one side and one tucked just next to the wall on the other and we just have the one panel and it looks good

I personally vote for drapes on both windows, but if you wanted to do a valance on the second window I would order another set of drapes and hem them to the valance length you want.
It is sooo easy to sew a straight hem but you can also ask your local dry cleaner to hem them for you.

Re: Do you think this will look weird?
I prefer to do drapes on both, but just worried about space around the single window. I guess I can just try putting some things there to get a feel for how it would look once we move in.

I'll have to take pics of my window. I have the same issue and was a little worried about it but it actually looks fine. I don't think I have more the 5 or 6" on the one side. I did panels on both sides. DH had to cut my wooden rod and it butts up against the wall instead of having a end on it, but no one has noticed that

Re: Do you think this will look weird?
I have the same issue with Rhys' room and am doing the panels on one and a valance on the other. I say go for it!

i think it could work-- that window though, the drapes would just be less open like yours. actually would work out since that is the one window in the house with the least amount of privacy. i might just get both once im in the house and see what works best.

Carousel Designs, babybedding.com.
This actually coordinates very well with the bedding I already have, which is this-- and I also got the black & white polka dot fabric which is on the bottom of the drapes in sheets and changing pad covers to tie all the different materials together...
