We have the most miserable mailman but we still tip him $10.

$25 - He is really the nicest guy - went out of his way to welcome us to the neighborhood this September. He even sent us a thank you card.

I always gave 10 and now that seems so little compared to others.

Re: Do you tip your mailman? If so, how much?
We tip $20. We live on the third floor of a walk-up and he always walks stuff up and leaves things at the door if it doesn't fit in the box.
I have a family member who was a carrier and it is a tough job if they do it right. It's also common for them to get cash tips and not get in trouble for it.

$20. We have known him for many, many years and he is really a great mailman. My mom is in another state and also tips her mailwoman and UPS guy. I don't think they just do it in NY.

$60 Like emilain, he has to walk up a long driveway and we get packages delivered quite often. Plus he goes out of his way to help me when he sees me in the post office.
For $60, he should!!!! We give ours a $25 Visa gift card in order not to break the rules
Isn't a gift card the same as cash? At my job they consider it the same.

I give $25 - He is very nice...and he works hard. Being out in the heat or the extreme cold. He deserves it.
In the summer when I am home I leave him ice cold water in the mailbox

Always give $20 and he accepts it and gives us a Xmas card....I think they deserve it. Who else comes to your door 6 days a week in all conditions in this day and age??

If he actually managed to deliver our mail, I would gladly tip him. I cannot tell you how many times I have had to call the office complaining.

Re: Do you tip your mailman? If so, how much?
My mailman is the NICEST person I've ever met. He brings the mail to my front door if its raining/snowing. He brings packages that fed-ex just leaves, he makes sure I lock the door (he's a grandpa). He is always nice so we tip him $100

20 bucks as well - I don't think they're allowed to accept more than that legally
