Do you use the same realtor to sell current house and buy new house?
We know what realtor is selling our current home. Do we also use her to look for a new house?
TIA!

We used different ones because we used agents that specialized in certain towns/areas, and we moved a few towns away.

There's no reason not to... assuming she did a good job handling the sale of your home and she already knows you and your needs, why start over with someone new?
I think the only reasons not to would be if the realtor who sold your house is completely unfamiliar with the area to which you want to relocate (to the point that you felt it would hinder your search), or if she was just a listing agent who never worked with buyers.

It's all good points. But we are staying in the same area, possibly even the same town. Just upgrading from our starter.

I agree...I have never had a seller use another agent to buy

Re: Do you use the same realtor to sell current house and buy new house?
(please don't quote) we did, we couldnt get our condo sold without her, she really was great. However when it was time for us to rent, it was like working with a different person scratch: so not involved, etc. when we were ready to buy, I decided to give her another chance, figuring if it didn't work out, i would change realtors. Luckily she has been good, so we are happy we went with her again. Plus the house we are most likely buying is being sold by an agent in her office, so that is also working in our advantage. I don't live on LI or else I would have prob went with one of the realtors on this site (Christine or Beth)
