I never do.

if something is stained, I wash it by itself (or with other stained like colored things) in warm water, never hot.

if you wash in hot water, can I ask why? I can understand washing baby clothes/blankets in hot water for the germ/soiled factor.

Re: Do you wash anything in hot water?

I was told never to wash in hot water by mom.
So I would seperate darks and whites and wash both in cold.

Now I wash all undergarments in hot.

Re: Do you wash anything in hot water?

I wash my whites in hot water. The setting on my machine is for "whitest whites" and it uses hot water. I really hate bleach so this is my alternative.

Re: Do you wash anything in hot water?

I only wash bed sheets in hot water. Other than that... everything's in cold.

Yes, I do. I wash all whites together in hot and then towels and sheets together in another load with hot water.

ETA: I wash these loads in hot just because I feel hot water gets them cleaner.

I have the same setting on my Duet washer. That is what I use for towels, white sheets, socks and white cotton undies.

I go by the label for regular white clothes.

Re: Do you wash anything in hot water?

I wash whites in hot water and bleach. I wash everything else in warm or cold. I wouldn't wash colored clothes or sheets in hot for fear of more fading r running into other clothes.

No chance of whites running so hot water. I would like to wash everything in hot for the germ killing ability but it's not meant for everything.

Whites and linens (towels and sheets) get warm water and bleach.

Re: Do you wash anything in hot water?

Everything is done in cold water by us.

Our pipes are so rusty and they tend to bleed out the rust when we use the hot water.

Re: Do you wash anything in hot water?

I wash white towels & DHs socks in hot water. Especially when I use bleach.

ETA: DH is a mechanic & if I do not wash his stuff in hot the smells never come out, no matter what bleach or detergent I use. He gets some funky stuff down in his boots & socks when he is workingChat Icon
