Do you work from home?
I have a job in the medical field, one where I wouldn't be able to work from home. I've always been curious about all these companies people are a part of (i.e. beach body, rodan and fields). If you are a part of these companies, how much time do you have to put into it and how much do you make doing it?

Re: Do you work from home?
I work from home for both my Corporate Job and in Direct Sales (R&F).
For direct sales it is a lot more time than I was lead to believe. I personally think you need to invest at least 2-3 hours a day and that is just the bare minimum. At least until your business is really up and running. It isn't hard work but there is a time commitment.
For my corporate job that alone is a 12 hour day. So my time is limited. I left one company to WFH full time with another and I am not as happy at home as I thought I would be. Grass is always greener.

Re: Do you work from home?
My DH and I WAH but not for a direct sales company. DH manages a team of fiber engineers for a telecom company. Position was originally in office, then part-remote, and then fully remote. He has a number of other employees on his team who work remote.
I am an attorney. I still go to the office, to court, etc but WAH on average 3 days a week most weeks absent obligations that require me to commute in. I also started off working in the office full time although I lived in the city and had no kids at the time. I have been WAH a few days a week since DB1 was born.

My mother worked from home 20+ years as a medical transcriptionist. She was picking up and dropping off mini cassette tapes before everything was digital.

I work from home 3 days a week in healthcare (obviously I do not work with patients!)
I think there are tons of WAH options that aren't direct sales and because of technology, opportunities will just keep growing.

I WFH not in direct sales. I work in consultanting / accounting for a large public accounting firm. Lots of big companies offer the flexibility to telecommute. I go into the office as needed and travel about once/twice a month. My day to day work I do at home. Although, on calls most of the day.

You do? That's awesome! I'm a consultant at a large public accounting firm as well and working from home can be done but is not encouraged. Meanwhile, my boss works in Atlanta and I supervise associates in LA and Chicago.

Do you work from home?
I WFH for a technology company. Some days I am in front of the computer for a full 8-9 hours a day, other days it could be a lot less. I get paid pretty comparable to what others do in my field at the same position. I probably could ask for a little more if I was willing to do more time in the office, but with kids at home, it just isn't worth it to me right now.

I wfh for an international finance company. Was ft in nyc then went to 4 days then ft wfh. Many companies are moving from the traditional office space to wfh office to save money. I know in my field ever since Sandy it has become very common place.

Do you work from home?
I can only if need be ( DD gets sick, snow days, etc) because I work off a laptop. I work in the back office of a bank, but can do about 95% of my job function without being in the office.

I do as well, but part of the assurance group! I can work from home one day a week, although it's hard with meetings and the need for fieldwork, lol! I am very experienced and have been with the firm over 10 years which helps !

Do you work from home?
I am a consultant for A great network marketing company. The company has a 35 year history and I've been a consultant for 10 yrs. You can make $$ but you really do need to put in the time and effort. Everyday you need to do some income producing activity. I signed on 10 yrs ago to get the discount and decided to start selling when I lost my job. I definitely did okay, but once I started going to school again I scaled back and don't make as much as I could potentially. My sponsor who signed me on 10 yrs ago has been working hard consistently and she made it to the top level and gets $600 a month to lease a Mercedes in addition to her take home pay.You definitely get out what you put in. I really believe in the company's products and what's awesome is I make at least enough to get my products for free now which is awesome

Do you work from home?
I can if I need to. For example today I'm WFH because DD had half a day and I had no one to pick her up.
I'm in the financial industry and mostly everyone can WFH if they want. We even have some staff that work remotely 24/7 because they live in States where we do not have an office. The only staff not allowed to WFH is the Administrative staff.

This pretty much word for word- right down to the staff in areas we dont' have offices being based out of a home office
Especially if you are a manager or above- you can pretty much work from wherever, whenever

Re: Do you work from home?
I WFH when I need to/want to. could I WFH full time yes but I don't because daycare is right by my job. plus I rather be in the office. the ability from WFH does not save me any money on daycare because it is not easy at all to WFH with kids running, crying and screaming. and I cant just do my work when the kids go to bed.

When I was pregnant I thought, OH GREAT- I will work from home ALL the time once DD is born. I did it once. It was a DISASTER I ended up in tears. You cannot work from home and focus like you should, take conference calls etc with a baby or young children. You just can't

We are all remote, however those with children need to provide proof of Child Care because it is impossible to do both. Of course the once in a while emergency comes up and that is ok but on the day to day they either need a sitter or day care.

Re: Do you work from home?
Technically, my duty station is my home but I mostly work onsite with WFH built into the schedule depending on the assignment. I have flexibility if I or the kids are sick.
We're moving to a quarter system where the last two weeks of every quarter will be WFH to wrap up current assignment and prepare for the next one. Should be interesting. I'm missing the initial roll out because I'm on maternity leave.
