it depends on when the day is.
We get our birthday off as an extra day...that we can take any day in the month of our birthday!

I usually work
my-bday falls on a sat this year
and i want a 3 day weekend so im taking that friday off

Depends on the day of the week. We get it as a holiday, but can use it another day so if it's in the middle of the week, I don't use it until a Friday or Monday for the 3-day weekend.

I work. One of our benefits is our bday off and you have to use it in the month of your bday.
I always take the Friday before Memorial Day weekend off...4 day weekends are awesome!

I've done both depending on how I feel about work at the time. If things are ok, I can deal and have a work celebration. If I'm not particularly loving work at the time and I'm going to be aggravated, I take off -I don't need that on my day.

I've never had to take off because it falls between Christmas and New Year's and I usually have that week off from work anyway. Never had school on my birthday either.
