Doctor for Depression, Anxiety and OCD
Hi... Does anyone know of a good psychiatrist in Suffolk? I thought I could handle everything on my own but today is my birthday and I spent most of the day crying and now I know I can't. Also if you know of any good therapists that would be good too.

i have a psychiatric nurse practitioner in massapequa who does medications and therapy but she doesnt take insurance but you can bill your insurance as an out of network provider i think.
i am so sorry you are feeling this way.

I see a dr in Amityville, she takes insurance. She is more about medication management based on her diagnosis when you first see her. Then on subsequent visits she speaks briefly with you and adjust meds based on your feedback. If you need someone to talk to as well, she will give you names of therapists since she really doesn't talk much with you. Not sure if that is what you are looking for.

your general practitioner can prescribe the medicine for you...
there are only certain docters within your plan, so they dont't always recommend people.
