DOE - Pay question
I got my first check today and it was MUCH smaller than I expected. I was told through HR connect that this would not be a "full check" (no explanation why).
Does this mean that my Sept. 30 check will be MORE than it "should be"? When will I receive the rest of my money?

DOE - Pay question
You'd have to define "much smaller." But for one thing we get paid 2x monthly but you didn't actually start work until Sept 6th. So you actually only received pay for 9/6-9/15. Your next check, which will be "normal" will cover 9/16-9/30. If that makes sense.
If you continue on in the DOE you will get paid for 9/1/17-9/15/17 (I'm talking about next Sept) at the "normal" rate because you consistently work for DOE and there's no break in service.

Re: DOE - Pay question
It was about half what I expected salary-wise... I guess that makes sense though since I was paid for 9/6-9/15. However, I was in for orientation for 3 days the last week of August that we punched time cards for and filled out time sheets for. I was expecting to be paid for that time as well.

DOE - Pay question
That is considered per diem (like OT with an hourly rate) and will be a separate check a looooong time from now, lol. No, really, you will probably see that in October! It will also probably be mailed to you.

DOE - Pay question
If they processed your per session pay on time they will mail out your check on 9/20. Otherwise the other poster is correct, you will see it sometime in October. If you've gone on payroll portal you can set up both your regular check and your per session checks to be direct deposits. You have to set up each separately. You can also subscribe to pay stub updates and then you'll receive an email when your pay stub is ready. Again, you'd have to set up regular and per session separately.
