Does anyone clench their teeth at night?
Or during the day when you don't realize it? How do you stop?

Yes, I do it all the time. I am very aware of it and try to stop once I notice. I go for acupunture for it, it helps relax me. I tried the night gaurd thing and have a horrible gag reflex. So I just try to pay attention to it.

Yes...I do and it's bad. I was fitted for a mouth guard, but it made me gag so bad, I won't wear it.

I feel like I do the clenching alot lately at night. For the past month, I've been having this constant pressure on the side of my head to my cheek. My dentist said that if I had the TMJ thing that I would have pain at the back of my jaw which I don't.

I do!!! I wake up as I am first falling asleep and realize I am doing it.
I find myself all tense and clenched and I have to actually say to myself- stop clenching.
One time I fell asleep with my finger in my mouth and woke up to biting my finger. OUCH!
I am chipping teeth too- my dentist noticed. He recomended a night guard.

I do it all the time, I carry all of my stress in my shoulders and my jaw. It is painful and my teeth are getting all worn down. I have a night guard to wear, but when I wake up, its always on the floor...

I had to wear a mouth guard at night to break the habit. It took years. Gave me bad TMJ.

during the night...I wear a night guard which prevents me from clenching...can't sleep without it or else i'll pay for it in the morning

I do!! I wake DH up at night because I am grinding my teeth so loud. I got a mouth guard (for $500 ) and it pops out of my mouth in the middle of the night. Total waste of money!! The dentist says I have TMJ and that they only other way to fix it is to have my jaw broken and wired back together so that my bones rub on one another correctly. MY teeth are getting worn down in the back of my mouth and I get terrible pain in my jaw and teeth. I am actually considering having the surgery to get it fixed.

Me too. I have a mouth guard called an NTI and it totally helps. I also know that teeth grinding has been found to be connected to migraines.

Yes, I do. Not all the time, I don't think. But I often have dreams that my teeth are clenched so tightly that they start to break. It's usually then that I wake up and try to relax some.

I clench at night but I go through spurts. I won't do it for a while and then I will do it for a whole week straight. The headaches I get from it are unbearable. I really should get a guard.
