Does anyone else find the car seat/infant carrier to be annoying?
At first, when  was smaller it was very convenient... now that she weighs 15 pounds, it is so heavy with her in it, and hard to get in and out of the car comfortably (I have a little sedan). I am tall and bending and ducking to get it into the middle seat is tough work!!
Ok, I'm done complaining now... anyone else feel that way?

Yes! I'm a wimp and that thing is HEAVY!! I'd rather complain about though than have nothing to sit her in when we go out to eat, etc., so I just suck it up and hope I'll get some good muscles out of it

yep...when Jacob reached 15 pounds, we bought the metrolite stroller and Britex car seat. Its much easier at this point to move him in and out of the car instaed of him and the carseat

It was heavy when he was born, but now at 13 lbs. I feel like I am carrying ricks. I leave the carseat in the car now instead of bringing him inside the house with it.

I just had DS out today and was thinking the same thing. It is very heavy. He is a little over 10 lbs now.
I remember thinking it was heavy when we registered for it, and my DH saying it was ok, since he would be carrying it mostly.

I have never liked it. I find i heavy & cumbersome. It is just not comfortable to carry or take in & out of the base.

YES! It was pretty much a total waste for us since when he was 3 months he was over 15 lbs. We got the convertable seat.

I've said this since day one. DS ws 9 1/2 lbs @ birth.
We leave the seat int he car and just take him in/out of the house.

Yep...that's why we just switched over to our Britax Marathon.
Although the infant carrier was very convenient the first few months...that thing is H-E-A-V-Y.

I don't plan on carrying the carseat around. Way to heavy. I would only take it out to put it on the stroller.

I have a heavy baby so I stopped pulling it in and out of the car early. I treated it as a convertible seat and just left it in the car. I only carried her in it if she fell asleep and I didn't want to wake her. I liked having it for restaurants too since she was still not comfy sitting in those hard highchairs and preferred sitting in that. I would just carry her and the empty seat.
She recently met the weight requirement so I installed the convertible seat, but I miss having it sometimes.

YES!!! Cailen is at least 15 lbs now - and I lug it into Starbucks in the morning, and its hell... But I carry him in and out of daycare - we both like that contact anyway so its nice....

I have always needed two hands to carry mine. As dd is getting bigger I am hoping for a few more months though, its just so convienient when she falls asleep when driving. Plus, putting her in that seat, even when we aren't going in the car is a sure way to get her to nap.
Just curious, does anyone know the weight limit of the top of their head?

Absolutely. Im done with it for awhile now but I remember that always being the case, it's great and so convenient when they are really small but after that, your arms get so damn tired of hauling it around.

I am a small gal and always had a hard time carrying that around - when DD was about 15 lb or so we switched her to the convertible car seat, I had had enough! it was the best thng I did, so much easier!

This is why I don't even have one. I watched a baby a couple years ago and had to take him out and about with one... I was in pain from it. I whined about it to my MIL (who normally watches him) and she told me all about her back and how it is suffering from carrying him in it. So go figure that she insists on using one with DS when she watches him.

It got to be tough as he got heavier, but now I wish I could still use it. I hate having to wake h im up everythime I take him out of the seat.

Now that both of mine are 15 lbs +13 for the carrier it's almost 60 lbs. when I have to carry both carrriers

You should of seen how they were 14 years ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They were heavier and more burdensome!!!!!!!!!!!!
I usually wind up leaving them in the car after a few months but find that they come in handy when you are out visiting and are necessary for many outings until about 9 months or so.....

Most are 22 pounds but I know that Graco makes a larger one that goes up to 30.
