does anyone else worry how their stress affects the baby??
I don't want to sound like im a total worry wort, because Im not, but sometimes I wonder how my stress---specifically my crazy busy job--- affects the baby.

I do.... so when I'm stressed, I just scream and let it all out... maybe call a friend and vent away.... better to let it out than keep it in is my opinion.

Re: does anyone else worry how their stress affects the baby??
I do!!!!!! Between the move, expense, job hunting, future house/mortgage, and baby, I am stressed to the max. I have learned to give things to my DH to handle, so I don't have to be as stressed over everything.

Re: does anyone else worry how their stress affects the baby??
Definitely!
I really try to put things in perspective, but sometimes things just really get to me.
I am at 20 wks 5 days, I am really going to try not get stressed out, irritated or angry for the remaining time.
I starting prenatal yoga on Monday nights and walking a little over 2 miles 3-4 times a week.
I think what stresses me out the most is thinking what is going to happen after the baby is born, maturnity leave, how life is going to drastically change, etc....
I really think that America in general needs to do a better job providing maturnity leave to us.

Re: does anyone else worry how their stress affects the baby??
I do. I am pretty sure its not 'harmful' but the true effects one really never knows. That is why I really try not to stress. Even with work, if I am in a stressful situation I remind myself of what is important and try to calm myself down.

I do think about it. I've been having the hardest time trying to refinance and DH also drives me batsh1t, and I wonder what affects it has on the poor kid.

Re: does anyone else worry how their stress affects the baby??
I do! But when I feel I am getting too stressed I just take deep breath and take the total opposite approach...instead of stressing I'm like you cares...nothing is that serious and my baby's health comes first (and my sanity)!

Re: does anyone else worry how their stress affects the baby??
I do all the time. I am a high strung, stressed out person by nature, so I have really been trying to just not care about certain things. Im not very successful at this, but Im trying.

Re: does anyone else worry how their stress affects the baby??
I do, but then I remember to try to calm down for 's sake. Apparently stress produces a horomone in the body, which doesn't metabolize very quickly. I try to keep that in mind and just think:
Relax, Relate, Release

Re: does anyone else worry how their stress affects the baby??
I do, I'm going through that now. However, stress is always going to be there and I am an admitted "worry wort". I can worry about things that no one would ever think would ever happen. For my own sanity I think I need to take it down a knotch. I think though that society finds ways to stress us out more by telling that stress is bad for the baby. If it's true that at one point humans weren't civilized like today, then think about the stress of worrying about hunting food and being eaten! Now that's stress... animals still deal with that and they have 6 babies at a time Just trying to shed some light.

Re: does anyone else worry how their stress affects the baby??
I was so stressed out when I first got PG that my Dr. actually told me I should find another job. That is was causing too much stress on the baby. I ended up finding another job right away. It was the best decision I could have ever made.
