Does anyone else's parents "takeover" the holidays even if you are hosting?

I am hosting Thanksgiving this year and I know I should be happy for the help, but my parents just informed me that they bought a turkey today and they will bring it over the morning of and cook here along with the stuffing and 2 appetizers!!!!Chat Icon My aunt is making 1 side dish. At this rate all I have to do is make mashed potatoes, another side dish and like 2 apps. I'm pregnant, not useless! Chat Icon

OMG I was just laughing with my mom about this in the car. I am hosting my first Thanksgiving and my DAD is taking off the day before to prepare like 3 appetizers, 2 side dishes and brine the turkey - at my house. I guess I'll set the table and be happy with that! lol

nope, my mother is one of those that sits in the living room and says "do you need any help?" as you are bringing dishes to the table. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

although, she makes a fantastic brunch every year on Christmas! My sis and/or I do clean up.

my mom is like that. but she typically "watches" herself. where you can tell that she wants to tell you "you're doing it wrong" but says nothing...
