Does anyone elses toddler play with their food instead of eating it??

My DD was never a big eater, but now instead of eating it she plays with it. She pretends to make soup and just mashes the food in her hands. She will only take a few bites and thats it. We usually take the food away from her before she is even close to finishing because she ends up wearing it and giving it to the dogs.

If you look up the word toddler in the dictionary, its one of the definations
n. - main job to give parents back what they gave their parents.
(1) may mush food
(2) favorite word - NO
(3) sleeps on own schedule - doesn't understand parents have to work
(4) very determined yet get frustrated easily
(5) Obeject of the game - get spoiled by grandparents.
