Does anyone have painful ovulation every month?
For the last 5-6 months I've noticed that I get pain for 1-2 days right before/around when I ovulate. I've been using OPks for the last 2 months so I now know for sure that it happens right around ovulation. It's not terrible pain, but it is noticeable and lasts for a bit, and occasionally it gets decently bad.
I had a cyst once years ago, but I can't remember if the pain is similar or not. I ovulate regularly, on cd13-14 every month, and I get my period like clockwork. But if I'm getting cysts every month could it still be PCOS?
I'm concerned the pain is related to why we're having more trouble getting pregnant this time than we did with our first (first try with him.) Also....it would be nice not have the pain ha.
Any thoughts?

I feel ovulation every month. Never had a cyst. I actually welcome the pain every month...it's a sure sign things are working! Most don't even know if they're ovulating.

Re: Does anyone have painful ovulation every month?
can't provide much insight to the painful ovulation part. I haven't ever really made a connection, but I do have polycystic ovaries so I can help provide you with some other thing to look out for if you are worried you might have PCOS.
PCOS and having had an ovarian cysts are not the same thing. PCOS is a adrenal issue where you develop lots of cysts on your ovaries. PCOS is not diagnosed alone by just having cysts. It is accompanied with other symptoms such as irregular periods, cystic acne, and facial hair growth. People have ovarian cysts from time to time that are are normal part of the cycle.
If your cycle is super regular and you don't have any of the other symptoms mentioned you probably don't have PCOS.

I was told it is mittelsmerz pain. I got it every month, very painful. Some days I could barely sit without horrible pain. I managed to get pregnant very quickly even though I had those pains. Every month it would pretty much alternate, too. Left side one month, right side the next.

Re: Does anyone have painful ovulation every month?
I never did before, but since the surgery to remove my tube my ovulation pain has been bad. It basically feels like I'm having AF. I'll be ovulating sometime within the next 4 days and I woke up today with terrible cramps, bloated, gassy, sore in my ovaries. I'm sure this will go on for the next few days until I actually O.
