Re: Does anyone have the Nikon D80?
i have it, and lorimarie does too....
i guess if uve ever seen our pics, the camera really just speaks for itself...why did i go for the d80?? bc the next step after that was the d200, which that say is a real professionals camera....which im not obviously....so i just got the best for me...
i say even if u opt of the d40 or d70 or something, splurge on the lens!! thats the most important part i think

Here ya go
LOVE IT
BUY IT
Honestly, I really love my camera. The auto setting takes amazing pictures. However, i would definitely advise you to really learn how it works and use the manual and aperature settings - definitely makes a difference.
Lenses......everyone has one they love. I have 4 and I love them all for different reasons. I have the 18-55, 18-135, 70-300 and I just got a 50 millimeter. I use all of them for different things so its ultimately up to you and what you'll be using it for.
I drool over the D200 but its heavier and more of a "pro" camera and I'm not there......yet :) Someday.........

here is a review from consumer reports: nikon d80 review
also - i dont know if this helps, but the nikon d40 is listed as one of their best buys...
ETA: I just found the Nikon D80 on their recommended list as well. It got a rating of "Very Good"
