does anyone know about nyc/state labor laws

My question is if I work from 9-3 do I HAVE to take a half hour break? I found the state dept of labor page and the wording is confusing me. This is what it says:

Employees who work a shift of more than six hours starting before 11 A.M. and continuing until 2 P.M. must have an uninterrupted lunch period of at least half an hour between 11 A.M. and 2 P.M.

Does this mean if I work exactly 6 hours I must take a half hour break or does it mean people who work MORE than 6 hours must take a half hour break?

if you work 6 hours you have to take the break. I had this issue with two girls that worked for me at my last job that worked 6 hours but only got paid for 5.5 bc of the break
